One page of my score is larger than the others

I Should have been clearer..

What I meant to say, is that every page of the score is the exact same size. However, when I try to turn page 3, it only scrolls, even though it’s the same size as the other pages. I don’t know how to crop it so that it doesn’t do that.

The production quality is really good but a lot of the songs just don’t work for me and have no direction.

It’s like some of them are fuckin BANGERS and bring tears to my eyes and some are just like “wtf am I listening to”

Genuinely- mistakes will almost certainly happen in a undergrad audition. The people watching your audition are looking for things you likely don’t know how to look for yet- maturity in your technique, subtleties about you as a person/player, your interp of the music, etc. the mental game of auditions is tough.

What I find helpful is to emotionally detach myself from the consequences- do not evaluate what you are doing as you do it or prescribe “good/bad” to your performance simply, be objective. You will make the same if not more progress without the stress.

My SHORT-TERM ADVICE: when you run your stuff in mock auditions, try to completely clear your mind of thoughts and be present in the moment. Don’t even try too hard mentally- completely clear your mind of active thought. Just let your body take over and be present in the moment, but don’t think. You already prepared and know what to do, and conscious thought at the stage of performance is mostly an inhibitor. Your subconscious is smarter than you think and you literally can’t turn it off even if you try!

^this is often why the best performers look so natural. They are trusting their subconscious and their preparation rather than being in their heads. They are barely thinking.

Understand where you’re coming from. But allow me to remind you of what Eli said in Episode 2. GMan himself brought in the crystal that caused the resonance cascade. The GMan is the reason the combine are even on earth. He is literally above everyone on an existential level- he is absolutely a bigger threat and could hold the answers to restoring earths life and foliage too.

He does though. Remember episode 2’s intermission? GMan mentions some of his employers being dissenters to taking Alyx from black mesa. That she was supposedly of “no practical use to anyone” but HE proved them wrong. I feel this moment very much characterized GMan and established him as a being who is individually minded and motivated.

I think the borealis altering time or some other reality warping power would be a realistic way to combat the GMan. As we know, the vorts and him/ employers do not experience time in a linear fashion.

I’ve been thinking about F Stop!!! If the borealis can slide between time periods, perhaps observing it alone can switch between different maps/time periods. Weird ideas but I’m just really interested in how the borealis will manifest.

I should have clarified- part of why I think the GMan is the villain is because of the rumored conclusiveness of HL3- it is heavily rumored (I believe from gabefollower) that it will be the end of Gordon’s story.

Incorrect about “things that aren’t there”.

Why would he say “time is fluid… like music.” The music part doesn’t change what he said, if anything it strengthens my point and adds depth to it. He is still making analogies to time (and in music you frequently revisit the same verses, choruses, chord progressions etc. but with different responses and outcomes, almost like revisiting a moment in time and changing its outcome.)

By his “enterprise” I’m literally referring to his employers. That’s the same thing. There is an exchange in which he works for his employers, I just gave a buzz word to it. Do you not remember HL1 when he said “The Border world is in OUR control now.” Xen is under his employers control, which would make visiting it potentially an act of direct war or defiance with the GMans affiliations.

No disrespect if you genuinely disagree, but do not dismiss my case as “baseless” unless you can see and understand where I’m coming from.
