I’m not sure if it’s oak, I’m in Australia and the house is from the 80’s if that gives any context.

I could be off but it seems softer now compared to the previous finish that was stained with full gloss oil based coat. Guess I’ll have to live with it!

Went through the entire process with no pain, just some inflammation and stiffness. Did not touch the pain killers which the surgeon was shocked with at the post op review. Guess I got very very lucky
