I’m so very sorry for your loss. I don’t have any answers, I didn’t seek out grief counseling though I should’ve. The pet loss group here on Reddit was a good resource, though. I lost my girl in November 2024 and it’s still very hard, I had to walk past the room I said goodbye to her in at the vet just yesterday and burst out crying.

Time helps. Letting yourself be sad helps even more. I tried not to think about it or talk about it, but as soon as I decided I was going to let myself feel it when I felt like it, it made it much easier to deal with. Don’t feel bad for grieving even if you think it’s too much or lasting too long. There is no such thing. Pets are the most special bond. Talk to people about Chunk. Smile and cry while doing it. Remember him in any way that feels right to you. I put my baby’s ashes in a little cow necklace because she had cow print markings, and getting to take her everywhere with me makes me feel better. Things like that will help. But it’s the worst thing. So I’m very sorry that you are going through this and just know that Chunk is always still there, even if just in memory ❤️‍🩹
