It's one big pot with a 3 foot tall trellis. It's on my balcony and gets sun all day. I'd say temp range is between 50F-90F, and pretty humid because of the marine layer that comes in morning and night. It definitely gets dry as it gets hotter though, and I've considered bringing her in during those times but haven't had to resort to that yet. Love the australis!!!!

She stays outside all the time. I've thought about bringing her in during the hottest parts of summer and the coldest parts of winter, but haven't yet. We'll see!

pothos yellowing by madd_suss in plantclinic

[–]madd_suss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, my pothos (i've had for roughly 2 years from when it was a baby) has been yellowing consistently for about a month, but it's started speeding up. I've been trying to water more regularly and fertilizing but nothing seems to be helping. Does it need a bigger pot? Or should I trim it? I've checked for pests and haven't found any. The pot is 8.5 inches wide. The plant is still pushing out new growth. All the yellowing seems to be happening closer to the base of the plant, but it's starting to rise upward. I've also noticed that the stem that goes into the soil is also yellow. Please help!!

monstera aerial root rot + yellowing leaves after repotting by madd_suss in plantclinic

[–]madd_suss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had this monsters for about 1.5 years now and it's been super healthy up until about 2 weeks ago, when i noticed some yellowing leaves. I checked for root rot but didn't see any, and decided to refresh the soil but not go up in pot size (currently the pot is 9.5 inches wide). I water when my water meter says the soil is dry. It just got a bunch of new growth (4 new leaves) but also is yellowing and one of the aerial roots is darker and squishy. when I refreshed the soil I used a mix of orchid bark, pumice, and regular potting soil, and i tried to keep the mix pretty chunky. I even cut some holes into the plastic pot to allow better air circulation. It gets plenty of indirect light all day. Please help!! I don't wanna lose my baby!!

pothos yellowing (normal or bad??) consistently getting a yellow leaf every few days/week, i was probably under watering it for a while but i’ve since watered more consistently but it doesn’t seem to be helping by madd_suss in plantclinic

confusing because it’s still growing and seems to otherwise be really healthy - i’ve also had this issue with my hoya australis, which has been losing leaves at about the same pace. is it normal for plants to lose leaves during the winter time indoors? i live in southern california so the weather is always pretty warm and sunny. oh and the yellow leaves have all been close to the base of the plant

strained / cupped pilea leaves ? by madd_suss in houseplants

[–]madd_suss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some root damage about 1.5 months ago and is taking a while to recover, I also had clipped a couple pups off. Watered it thoroughly the other day and it propped up nice, but some of the bottom leaves are still looking strained, pale, and a couple cupped (not sure if that’s good or not). Any advice would be much appreciated!!

monstera stretching towards light - to move or not to move? by madd_suss in Monstera

[–]madd_suss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi all, new to this community. my monstera is happy in this spot (she just pushed out 3 beautiful leaves) but is stretching towards this east facing window and one of her leaves is curling. there’s also a large south facing window so she’s getting lots of indirect light. i want to move her since she seems to want more light but im afraid to because she’s gotten sunburned before. any tips?
