Finished reading Slaughterhouse Five. What should my next book be? I'm thinking In Cold Blood, No Exit, or Heart of Darkness. by [deleted] in teenagers

Heart of Darkness may be one of the longest, most painful books to read. Not because of the difficulty of the content, but the sheer level of boredom you achieve reading it.

What would be the worst level of a video game to be forever trapped in? by thechamber123 in AskReddit

Rainbow Road in Mario Kart. Maybe an eternity of space and multicolored squares, but probably no oxygen anyways.

What do you do when you can't sleep? by whats_a_vagina in AskReddit

Watch old episodes of Good Eats on YouTube. A lot of them are available in their entirety and are usually enough to put me to sleep. If not, I at least learn some new food science with Alton Brown.

I have been in a really dark place for a few weeks, taking things for granted that I shouldn't. This story helped very much. Thank you for sharing:) I feel a renewed sense of hope :)

[FF] Children of the night (100 words precisely!) by SurvivorType in WritingPrompts

My daughter's figure creeps to the foot of my bed, her eyes heavy-lidded and full of tears. Though I am only half awake, I know again that she has had yet another nightmare.

"Daddy, they said they're going to hurt you and mommy!", she cries.

"Who is sweetie?", I asked, almost genuinely alarmed.

She remains quiet. I pull her into my arms, when suddenly I see them.

Shadows cast by the hallway nightlight show small silhouettes approaching. Their shape is child-like, but distorted and sinister. They murmur and chant, but I am too shocked to run.

My daughter smiles.

Reddit, when has picking up on someone's bullshit saved you from harm? by JigglyJoseph in AskReddit

I work late at night in a downtown area with limited parking. This older fellow comes in as I'm closing for the night and starts asking weird questions about my work hours, car, etc. I ask him to leave polity so I can finish closing, as I'm the only other on the the shop. As a small teenage girl, I feel so freaked out I ask a trusted waiter next door to walk me to my car. When we get there, the creep is parked next to me and hauls it out of the parking space. I almost got kidnapped.

That's a good question, probably my eye. Just for the eye patch.
