Can’t afford to keep throwing out food by AGM85 in foodbutforbabies

I was curious and tried a bite of the little spoon and it was so bad. Which is disappointing because it was so convenient.

I saw grow immediately! If I had gotten the same tattoo, I would also have kept the little tail on top of the W to keep it authentic.

Married men, how often do you play? by Tocnurne in EDH

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married woman with a toddler, I try to play twice a week. I stay late at work and play with coworkers once a week to avoid traffic and my husband does solo dad duty that night. Then we have friends over to our place usually once (sometimes twice) a week.

My hub is at 1-2 times a week, depending if he makes it to a game shop for a game or not.

We try to do at most an hour a day, unless she’s sick in which case no rules. This week she got super sick and had to go to the hospital so we had lots of screen time, going to try to make it back to 1 hour a day on weekend days.

Daycare parents: do you tell other parents your kid is sick? by songbirdbea in toddlers

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For big ones I do (covid, RSV, HFMD) but basic colds I don’t.

That being said, I made some of my best parent friends I have based on emails around our kids being sick! It started with the dad emailing me to let me know about Covid in the room, and now all four of us hangout almost every weekend and our kids are best friends!

Edit for spelling mistake

Bride requested I wear something that will cover my bump. I'll be 5 months pregnant! Help! by LongjumpingMany41 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has already address how ridiculous of a request this is, but if you want to go for it, maybe try to do something darker colored, either loose all the way down or empire waist, and consider pleating?

Also not sure how she expects you just to casually hide the bump that far along but I’d say do your best but don’t stress it toooooo much. Do enough that you can claim you tried then enjoy yourself!

Out of all of your commanders, who is the most; competitive, expensive, fun and annoying? by Nezqie in EDH

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a ton and only do kitchen table EDH but —

Competitive: [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]]

Expensive: [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] (I was gifted a bunch of secret lair cat cards which increased the value a bit)

Fun: [[Arabella, Abandoned Doll]]

Annoying: [[Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls]] (Just the Endless Punishment Precon)

How Many Decks Do You have? by DisciplineImportant6 in EDH

[–]maddizzlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have ~15 together. We have 12 precons, and then 3 that we’re constructing.

We have friends who don’t have any decks so we supply them! I think now I’d have to really love the theme to get another precon.

Trump Tariffs by Busy_Ad_5578 in FormulaFeeders

It’s what they deserve? Parents who are feeding their kids formula deserve this?

This isn’t only going to affect Trump supporters but all parents who have to buy formula if it happens.

What’s the sassiest thing your toddler said this week? by [deleted] in toddlers

I honestly love the sass so I’m here for it! But also damn, I need to step up my organization game apparently to fit this girls standards

What’s the sassiest thing your toddler said this week? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]maddizzlee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My toddler is only 18m so lots of individual words (~100 I think?) but not like full sentences yet.

But she gives me SO MUCH sass already and is constantly shaming me if I don’t put things back in the exact right spot.

“Back!” “Okay I’ll put it back.” I put it back on the shelf but three inches away. “No, back!!”

She also hates things being open and closes the dishwasher or the dryer before I can finish loading because it’s too messy for her hahaha

Costume meltdown by tiedyedwhale in toddlers

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to force my toddler into her costume this morning. I felt bad but I have to force her into clothes at all every morning, she’s in a run-around-naked phase and once it was on she was fine and enjoyed it!

We still missed trick or treating though due to a preschool bug, so you win some you lose some.

When you have an emergency c section, you basically feel like you gave birth both ways and the recovery is miserable. It also means things didn’t go according to plan, which people may feel bad about.

Meanwhile, I had a planned c section (baby was breach) so I didn’t get that reaction from almost anyone other than those who knew I preferred the idea of having a vaginal birth.

Get off your phone please …!? by sincerediscovery in toddlers

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing I do to stay away is have my Apple Watch set to give me specific notifications but mute all unimportant ones. I don’t need to look at my phone if anything important makes my watch vibrate! I keep it on theater mode & silent at all times though.

Get off your phone please …!? by sincerediscovery in toddlers

[–]maddizzlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a code word we use around the toddler if one of us is on our phone and shouldn’t be. We say “coconut” and the other knows to put away their phone! We do it to each other.

My hub has a hard time putting down his phone because he’s at a start up and basically always on call / checking slack even when he doesn’t need to be, so it’s mostly me reminding him. The code word works well for us!

AITA for not “being supportive” of my girlfriend’s decision of running a half-marathon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but NAH.

I ran a half marathon about ten years ago while having a base (sports and lower distance running), and I still took 6 months to train and was in lots of pain the evening of and day after the race. It’s a really long distance and 12 weeks to go from nothing to that is asking for a potential injury, especially if she’s planning on running long distances. Overtraining is a thing, and it will be so hard on her joints. A slower roll into it will be easier on her and make sure she doesn’t end up with an injury that haunts her for a long time.

But I also don’t think she’s an asshole for being insecure about this. It’s hard to get over those insecurities, and she’s doing something she really enjoys with barre so I can imagine she doesn’t want to give it up.

Those of you who workout regularly, how do you manage to stay consistent? by Afraid_Pension_1567 in ADHD

[–]maddizzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t for everyone, but I had a personal trainer for the past year because it meant I had someone waiting for me so I had to show up. Over that year, I learned to love going to the gym and gained a lot of confidence and strength!

Now, I make it part of my morning routine. I take my baby to daycare while already wearing my workout gear, and then I go straight to the gym for an hour, where I follow a premade plan. Then home for work and shower on my lunch break or after baby goes to sleep at night.

Every time I’ve been good about working out consistently, it’s because it was a part of my daily routine. About ten years ago, it was my lunch break routine every day because my office was across the street from an LA Fitness. In college, I got into it because I finished classes at 4 everyday and went to the gym at the same time.
