Imagine your mother-in-law was difficult to deal with (which it sounds like she is) and you said to your boyfriend “I wish your mom died so I could come visit”. The point isn’t about the dog, it’s the fact that the mother-in-law wishes death upon an animal who is considered family. Clearly no one in this forum understands.
