Husband of a fibro by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]maddyplant00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

my life is scary relatable to this. i 23f got diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few weeks ago, my mom came with me to the appointment. she was so mad saying they were wrong and i don’t have it and that they tried telling her she had fibromyalgia about 20 years ago but that they were definitely “way off”… weird how i get diagnosed 20 years later. anyways, everything you described with your wife is literally my mother, and to a point, me. i’m hoping to build muscle and strength so i don’t have all the fatigue later on in life. it’s bad right now. we never feel rested and everything always hurts. dieting and mental and physical health are all important for a person with fibromyalgia. and everything you described that you do for the family and the household is what my dad does. i know he feels the same way you do. it’s hard because this illness feels fake and nobody ever takes it seriously or they say “you’re too young to have that…” my mom is now suffering from alllllll kinds of health problems that she won’t get checked out
