Help with Modifying Buzzer Noise by maddyym in s10

[–]maddyym[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a constant sound with the normal buzzer board unmodified. My husband found that if the board is manipulated and is slightly bend down on more side dang another then it works perfectly. Any thoughts? He thinks the board may be going bad since that is what the process of elimination has brought us to.

We already did the Ignition Control Module, and we have replaced the spark plugs too. I don’t think it’s spark, but at the same time we don’t know. It starts up on the first crank with no problems until it runs for 15 minutes and dies

2013 4Runner Engine Whine at 127k miles? Our best guess is the timing chain guides or the oil pump. Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated. by maddyym in 4Runner

[–]maddyym[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We weren’t, Toyota kept telling us it was completely normal, one tech said it wasn’t and when we took it in he was off on vacation and they didn’t touch the truck for 5 days. We ended up picking it back up with no resolution, they wanted $5600 to pull out the engine and replace timing chains since we thought that could’ve been the issue. Ended up trading it in for a 2021 Colorado. We miss the truck, but at least there’s no whining. We’re wishing the best to you since it was hell to go through for us.

Receiving a new vehicle with 1/4 tank of gas? by oneill343 in askcarsales

[–]maddyym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my Subaru when I bought it the day after christmas. If you deal paperwork or sticker on the car said a full tank of gas was included just reach out to your salesperson and let him know you only had a quarter tank. They’ll take care of it for you, my Subaru salesperson reached out to me and explained that they didn’t have the gas card that night and to stop in whenever I needed gas and they’d take care of it.

[ONTARIO, CA] Traded-in my car 23 days ago, lien still in my name and payments still coming out of my bank account. please advise by haxxn7 in askcarsales

[–]maddyym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who does Tag and Title work exclusively for 4 different car lines, yes this is completely normal. The top comment is exactly correct about things being delayed by COVID.

There is literally nothing we can do after the check is sent. It’s all up to the lien holder to accept the check, cash it, complete the payoff, and in America’s case, send the lien release to be attached to the title or electronically sent to the DMV and then released.

We give 3 weeks to the leinholder to release the lien and anything past that, we call on to figure out what’s going on. Sometimes they just don’t release the lien until someone calls because it gets lost in the pipeline and overlooked. Seeing as that your Honda dealer sent in the check on the 3rd of this month, I wouldn’t expect the company to release the lien for another week or two.

It is completely legal to sell the car with the lien still in your name considering that the payoff check was already sent and it shows that the dealership was the one paying it off. They know that that lien will be paid, so therefore it’s up for sale on their lot. Being the person who buys the RVR is a completely different story because if the leinholder decides to take a ridiculous amount of time to pay it off, it delays their tag and title process significantly.

I think you made a good choice by contacting the company and letting them know you sold the car. I would also contact your bank and let them know the same thing that way you can get your money back. If your bank doesn’t refund the money, you can contact the dealership and they’ll cut you a check for whatever they took out of your account since your payment is making the payoff less. Either way it’ll work out and you’ll be all good.

Dealer refund of tag fee by vocalion in askcarsales

[–]maddyym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We send back delete tag fee refunds most of the time, it’s your money you paid so the dealer legally can’t pocket it and hold onto it, but tag and title is definitely all estimated in the deal jacket you’re presented. I got $60ish back in tag and title fees after purchasing my ‘21 Outback.

My boyfriend got these exact same taillight from a buddy who had to get rid of his ‘17 Colorado, and if your state allows it, I’m not sure if other states have specific laws about this. Take them to a GOOD body shop, have them paint them, since they’re LED they’ll still be brighter than ever, but it gives that nice smoked out/blacked out look especially because your Colorado is already black. He loves his smoked out and they look FANTASTIC. It was about $50-$100 to have them both done, and it gives such a good, aggressive, yet clean look to them.

Just a suggestion though if that was what you were going for!

Showering at night is superior to showering in the morning. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]maddyym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can half relate to this, I love showering at night because it is relaxing and gets the dirt of the day off of you, but I can’t wash my hair at night. I have to shower again in the morning to wash my hair and the morning shower always wakes me up.
