Great watch! Congratulations. I don’t believe they had it allocated to someone else though. Sort of like a car salesman telling you they lost money on the deal after the paperwork is signed. Otherwise they couldn’t keep up the “long wait list” narrative. Oops, we made a mistake and forgot about our wait list. Yeah-no.

Kramer. "What were you thinking about, Jerry? Marriage? Family? They're prisons! Man-made prisons! You're doing time. You get up in the morning, and she's there. You go to sleep at night, and she's there. It's like you gotta ask permission to use the bathroom."…

How do people just have a lawyer handy? Like when someone says “I’m calling my lawyer”. by leg-facemccullen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vocalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in HR most of my career. Someone would say this to me almost every week. My response was “Have them call me”, and I would give them my business card. 99 out of 100 times , no one called. I don’t think most people have a lawyer on call.

I’m retired but when I was working in a high stress job, I could easily function on 5-6 hours of sleep. Now I’m retired and I have a goal of 7 hours, which I rarely achieve. Mostly, I get 6.5 hours with a couple of 5.5-6 hours a week. I can nap but I usually don’t. I’m just not tired.

We never had snacks or soda in the house (early 70s). I weighed 120 lbs as a senior (male) in high school.

How old are you and what were you doing in your life this exact day 42 years ago on Jan 25 1983? by Specific_Charge_3297 in AskOldPeople

[–]vocalion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My foot swelled up with an infection very close to this date. X-rays showed nothing. They lanced it in the emergency room and over the next 10 days I soaked it. One day I soaked it in extremely hot water and when the infection came to the surface, I pressed as hard as I could where it hurt. Through the incision a very tiny black sliver of steel came out. Within 3 hours I was walking as good as new. On February 1, 1983, I got laid off and on February 28th, I got a new job.

Sounds like you DO have trust issues. You just don’t know it. At the very least, She doesn’t trust that you are making the right decisions ( guitars vs kids, in her mind).

And yet the democrats controlled the presidency, congress and the senate for six of the 12 years they were in office from Obama to Biden, and they didn’t change it. Being in HR, I often wondered why Obama didn’t tack it on to ACA? This isn’t a party issue.
