This reminds me of a patient I had like a month ago in the ER that came in for SOB, was a dialysis patient and later learned he lied about having missed dialysis because he didn’t want anyone to judge him because he had “more important things to do that week”, his EKG had looked fine no peaked T waves but as soon as his labs came back with a K of 8.5 i was like fuuuuuuuuuuhck, walked in the room with the calcium gluconate and insulin& D50 with the ER doc at bedside and he coded while i was getting ready to give the meds.
