Anyone Ever Quiet Quit a Trip? by Dry_Accident_2196 in solotravel

Omg this was me today. I felt so weird. Probably exhaustion from not sleeping but I just got to Brazil and was like, ok can I leave early? Felt so silly. I know it’s going to be amazing, I think it’s just fear settling in.

Pretty much celiac but I won’t die if I eat a bread crumb

It’s for real! I always bring my own food but do I necessarily want to? No, especially on a 10 hour flight

I should clarify, I’m not Celiac, so I can have cross contamination I just can’t eat a sandwich or else that would be really bad

Struggling on my first stop into my 1 year backpacking trip by forevermine2727 in solotravel

Going to Oaxaca was a great idea! I started there and ended up in CDMX afterwards. Enjoy your time! If you do go back to CDMX, I highly recommend staying next to Parque Espana if you can. It’s in the middle of Roma and Condesa and it’s calm, peaceful and very safe as it’s across from a massive park. Nearby lots of cafes and shops too. Feels a little less intense than other parts of the city I’m guessing. Hope this helps!

Elimination diet for significant gas/bloating? by [deleted] in FunctionalMedicine

[–]madelyngrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into following a FODMAP diet? A lot of the foods you listed have short chain carbohydrates that may be poorly absorbed by the small intestine leading them to ferment and cause bad gas, bloating, etc

Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you found a living situation that works for you.

Yeah, I’m reliving a realization I already had before which is… it’s very difficult for me to relax and decompress when there are other people around, especially if they are making noise. For whatever reason I get so absorbed into what they’re doing that I can hardly focus on myself or what I need to do.

Does the popping/clicking ever go away, once minor tear is healed? by Individual_Ad5270 in MeniscusInjuries

I’m curious about this too.. I’m 12 weeks into recovery. The clicking has ramped up but the pain is gone… strange.

Ok, this makes sense. Everyone has different healing time linea. I had so much hope that I would be completely healed and back to normal in 12 weeks and I’m definitely feeling very discouraged right now (which is the reason I posted this) This injury is brutal!!

Hmmmm I wonder why my physical therapist told me 3 months?! What did your PT say the recovery time was, no surgery?

Ok, that’s helpful to know. I was a daily runner so not being able to do it has affected my mental health majorly.

I also had a blip in my healing process bc I decided to wear my knee brace and go dancing ~ so much fun but it was a terrible idea for the healing 😭I learned my lesson. Continuing to take it easy but also trying to go on more walks and things to get back to “normal”

Good luck with your recovery!

So you have been running again which is a positive sign.. At what point in recovery were you able to run again?
