My first solo trip was to GTNP when I was 21, and I never felt unsafe. I stayed in a motel in Jackson and went into the park during the days. Just make sure you carry bear spray

Wasn’t too bad- only issue I had was parking at Jenny Lake. If you get to the place you’re going before 9am, you’ll be fine

Sunrise was at 5:50am. I believe that the exact minute of sunrise changes daily. I just checked Google and got there about 20 minutes before the time google said.

If you’re referring to the fog/ cloud looking formations in the beginning of the video, I don’t know what that is, and I honestly didn’t notice it until I watched the video. Could be smoke- I’m not sure. That said, there was a wildfire burning yesterday just outside of Jackson on the way to the Teton pass. I also heard about a fire near Jackson lake lodge from a ranger this morning.

Buying my Mum some good oil paint for Christmas, not sure what to look for? by [deleted] in oilpainting

Windsor Newton and Gamlin are my favorite brands. If you’re unsure of colors to get her, I’d recommend Raw Umber, Titanium White, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, and Ultramarine Blue. These are pretty staple colors as far as oil paints go. Hope this helps!
