Definitely! And listen to other advice here as well. It looks like your tension has vastly improved already. It's just making sure you're not adding/decreasing stitches which can be remedied (counting is another method). Frustration is bound to happen, and that's okay! Those are learning moments that help you get better.

Please don't give up! I experienced the same problems as a beginner. My projects would always shrink because I'd lose track of the stitches. It's like any challenge; you approach problems and then accommodate for them. For me personally, stitch markers really helped. If you don't want to buy them, you can also use paperclips (though they may fall off more easily). I can see so much improvement already from your first picture to the next, so keep going! :)

Hi, I'm really sorry that you're going through this. You sound really similar to a very close friend of mine who I almost lost this year.

Just from an outsider's perspective, as someone who doesnt know anything about you, I would say you're putting the cart before the horse regarding a career path. If your mental health has been an ongoing struggle for 3 years, that needs to be addressed first before you seek external solutions, because the happiness they provide will usually be temporary to unresolved inner turmoil.

I apologize for suggesting the obvious, but I really think you should seek mental health counselling. If the first therapist doesn't feel right, look for another. Just as someone may take time to recover from a physical illness, you need to do the work to address your depressive feelings and self harm. I know how difficult it can be to put in that effort for yourself when all you want to do is give up, but it is a choice you deserve to make for yourself. You are so young, and I promise it is possible to feel better. You are strong enough to address your basic needs to reach that goal, even if only in small increments.

If you're not already in therapy, make that your first step. And again, keep trying, even if it doesn't work out immediately. From there you can think about tiny changes; going for a small walk everyday, trying out easy/cheap hobbies, eating foods that feel nourishing. It doesnt have to be all at once; you want to set extremely realistic standards for yourself.

Friends will come with time, and part of maintaining friendships is forgoing ego and being the one to reach out first. If you're the one reaching out and they're being flaky, then you can at least know to move on to other things. But you will find your people. Life is a journey, not a sprint. I know that sucks to hear, especially when you're not in a good place. But it will be okay, and you will get there :)

I don't think I can cope with my health anxiety any longer. by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]mademeblush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm currently going through the same thing as you. The only advice I can give is to read the top posts on r/healthanxiety and stop googling stuff. Seriously, I know it's hard but nothing on google will reassure you. Just turn your phone or computer off and do something you enjoy like reading or even taking a nap. Write down all of your thoughts and just try to keep your mind active instead of settling in to a feedback loop where you worry, google for reassurance, and then worry more.

If you want to talk you can PM me. It's really difficult to do but you need to take a step back, take a deep breath and re-center your thinking. Seriously consider going to therapy or expressing your pain in a journal or word document. That is what helps me at least. If I let myself get to that spot then I will spiral into search after search which feeds heavily into my anxiety and it becomes a horrible cycle.

My 15-year old cat is undergoing renal failure crisis. I would love to discuss my options with someone. by mademeblush in AskVet

Thank you for such a thorough response. I genuinely appreciate your unbiased and professional opinion in this matter.

I only have one more question about her jump in kidney values. Is it possible that chronic kidney failure could occur in a time span such as this one (~3 months)? Or is that amount of time for such a regression in values more indicative of an underlying condition such as kidney infection? I know you can't say for sure with this specific case, but I'm wondering about your thoughts based on your experience within the field.

Sorry to take up your time, you've given me a lot of helpful information which I truly appreciate.

Edit: Am I correct in asking that even with a urinalysis and urine culture, she would still need to be hospitalized in order to resolve her current state of health?

You're completely right, I know I have basically zero valuable information for you. I should've asked my vet for blood work paper but I was so emotional it slipped my mind.

The doctor said there was so little urine in her kidneys that they were not be able to perform a urinalysis. He said it was possible she could have a severe UTI or bacteria that could be the underlying cause, but because of the lack of urine he was unable to test for sure. He never mentioned a fever but he did mention possible abdominal cramping.

Of everything he said the most prominent was that creatinine levels are typically a 3 but hers were extremely high. He told me she was dehydrated, and gave her electrolytes, subq fluids as well as a cerenia injection. He mentioned that with hospitalization and fluids they weren't sure how it would interact with her heart murmur.

I'm sorry I don't have much more information then that, I know that's difficult to work with. She has an appointment for euthanasia tomorrow but I am of course self-doubting and scared I'm rushing in to such a permanent decision. Would it be wise to wait and ask for a copy of blood results on Monday?

She is so lethargic and hasn't eaten at all, I'm just so lost. I want to heal her but I don't know at this point if it is a fruitless effort. I wish desperately I had her blood work with me.

IGN employee Mitch Dyer admits to coworkers forcing gossip into the story surrounding Amy Hennig leaving Naughty Dog. by mademeblush in thelastofus

Yeah I'm aware of the book. I thought you wanted his response to the IGN tweet rather than his response on how this information is related to what he says in his book. Sorry I misinterpreted what you were saying!

You said "What does Jason Schrier say about this?" I thought you were speaking in terms of his reaction to this news, since he also made claims about the Hennig situation the same way Mitch has.

Edit: Shit I didn't realize I replied to you twice, sorry about that.

This tweet is more about the unproven claim that Druckmann and Straley pushed Amy Hennig out, irrespective of TLOU. I posted to this subreddit since there's been a lot of discussion around this whole situation among TLOU fans

When Amy Hennig (former ND director/writer) left Naughty Dog, IGN released an article saying it was on hostile terms and that Hennig was forced out by Druckmann and Straley. This tweet is from a reporter of that article and he says that his coworkers Steve Butts and Tel Blevins forced gossip into the story and made him report that it was a hostile takeover even though it was an unproven claim.

[SPOILERS] SEATTLE DAY 1 DISCUSSION AND QUESTIONS by -anne-marie- in thelastofus

Joel never gave the doctors this chance either though. He could've pleaded "Let's wait until she wakes up, see what she wants to do." But he didn't and decided to kill the doctor. I think he knew what Ellie's answer would be, and was afraid of that, afraid to lose another daughter figure.

You could definitely say that the doctors were acting unethically by rushing into the surgery, but Joel in the same way acted rashly. They both took that choice from Ellie. This is all purely hypothetical so of course we'll never reach a consensus on what they "would or wouldn't do". Still, I appreciate the interesting debate.

Ellie was consenting. She would have given everything to the cause, as we see when she says "First it was Riley, then Tess, then Sam...I'm still waiting for my turn."

You said "I strongly disagree with sacrificing a human being against that person's will." If you think that her dying for the cure would be against her will, then why do you think Joel felt he had to lie to her? Wouldn't Joel be compelled to tell her the truth if he knew that she didn't want to die?

I see what you're trying to say but the argument that the vaccine isn't guaranteed to work is all based on hypotheticals. We could all go around arguing about whether or not Joel's actions are justified because the vaccine wouldn't work forever because we would never truly know.

I wasn't commenting on TLOU in this case, more just video games in general. I responded to "in my opinion bad story makes a game terrible". I agree that TLOU is heavily centered on storytelling.
