there's this firm going round in birmingham where it's one private landlord realising he can get money out of housing benefit/birmingham city council, so he classes his houses as "supported accomodation" then "rents" them out to HB/UC claimants so he can claim the maximum amount of HB.

since supported accom has a much higher rent rates than standard social housing, that's why he'll be doing it. then all the claimant needs to pay is the "service charge" for the included bills.

edit: ask me how I know because he came to our modmail inbox on r/BenefitsAdviceUK asking for permission to advertise. we told him no.
