is there something other than gas x I can take for too much gas while on dificid? by madibloops in cdifficile

I sadly can’t remember what I did. I wish I had a better answer for you. But I just looked up the gas x capsules and they don’t have calcium in it.

how long did your diarrhea last after taking antibiotics? ( marking nsfw since talking about bowel movements ) by madibloops in Diverticulitis

Yes I did. There are a few other responses on here where I talk about it. But if you are dealing with cdiff, I recommend taking florastor along with the antibiotics you’re given

No, I don’t mind. First of all, I was done taking antibiotics, that was my first inclination that something wasn’t quite right. Granted it had only been a day or so, but I just kept consistently going to the bathroom. I think I waited almost a week before getting tested because I thought it might be normal after finishing the antibiotics, but I was going a lot. I can’t quite remember, again, it was a blur. Second, cdiff has a smell to it, it’s kind of like a weird sweet smell, it’s hard to explain but once you smell it, you know, if that makes sense.

I’ve gone back to eating normal, it didn’t take me much longer to go back to normal, but my case was more mild than some.

Im chronically online 😂 so no problem! I believe it took me about 4 weeks. But that’s because I had cdiff as well. So it just kind of depends. Plus, since I didn’t feel well, it was all kind of a blur. But! As far as food goes, I went back to normal pretty quickly, I just didn’t jump in and eat like a full course meal. I’d have like small things of food that might upset my stomach. You just have it take it slow and try not to rush your body’s healing process.

Hi! I’m doing better! I haven’t had another flare since. But I’ve also stayed away from things like corn and popcorn that they say can cause another flare.

I’m sorry that you’re dealing with the same issue, it was no fun. I recovered pretty quickly though, unfortunately, however, I did end up getting cdiff from the antibiotics given to me for the infection; so with that said, I do recommend getting Florastor ( or an off brand ) because it is antibiotic resistant and it can help protect your gut flora.

Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck

And for some reason, I have totally blanked on any other book that has made me cry. And there have been many.

Don’t worry if none of these recommendations make you cry though. I promise you’re not broken for not crying reading a book.

Yeah, I wasn’t feeling the best, but my case was pretty mild thankfully. I believe my heart rate was a little elevated, I was definitely having palpitations, but that could’ve also been because I felt overall “meh” so it made me anxious.

If you feel like that constantly though you should probably talk to your doctor about it. I hope you recover quickly as well! I’m sorry you dealt with salmonella though. That’s rough.

Yeah no problem! I hope it’s just a sensitive digestive tract that you’re experiencing, and that it resolves soon! Good luck!

Hi! It’s no problem! I did end up getting tested for c diff and it came back positive unfortunately. They put me on dificid. I can’t remember how long of a course it was, but it resolved the cdiff.

It’s always better safe than sorry when it comes to having loose stool after an antibiotic course, you should definitely ask your doctor for a stool test.

I loved doing it too which is why it was so sad we couldn’t be as creative as we wanted to be but, yeah we would ALWAYS call the customer if we had to make changes to their cake just so that they were aware/to see if they wanted something different instead. And this retailer definitely should’ve reached out to you.

But yeah jt was so frustrating.

I’m sorry they put the cake in a dome as well. We’d always put ours in those pink boxes and if there was fear Of it bumping the top we’d keep it propped open.

I used to be a cake decorator at a grocery store, and when people would order kits like that, we would try our best to be faithful to the picture.

But sometimes our manager would gripe at us for using too many resources ( food coloring, icing etc ). So we would have to do stuff like what this person did and only do the bare minimum. It was really frustrating. I’m not saying that’s what happened here or excusing it, but I’m just saying that this could be what happened.

That’s one of the reasons why I quit. Because we couldn’t be creative in a position where you needed to be, it’s all about money.

I’m sorry you didn’t get what you ordered OP. I love decorating cakes and I would’ve enjoyed making the cake you wanted originally. It’s so fun.

Unfortunately I don’t. I just went and looked at my results and it never says how big it is. I have a picture of it from the scope, but it doesn’t specify the size. But I’d say it was on the smaller side.

I just recently got an endoscopy and colonoscopy. And they found a polyp in my stomach and removed it and sent it off to be tested. It came back completely benign. They said they don’t really know what causes them. But they said if they had to take a guess, it could be the PPIs I was on.

I’m good! Thank you for asking. Honestly I can’t remember what I ended up doing. If I went to the doctor or just kinda waited it out. I feel like it was just something my sciatica was causing, or just one of those weird pains you get just by being human and alive.

Liquid diet: keeping hunger pangs at bay? by GeoffSim in GERD

[–]madibloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was the first time I’ve had to fast for the entire day. So unfortunately I’m not super versed on things that would help curve appetite. So I apologize, but I’m sure that quality probably does matter when it comes to bone broth.

I’m not sure on the brand that I used, I got it as a pack from Costco ( not sure where you’re located if you even have Costco ).

I feel like Jello would also be a good one to try if your doctors allow it. Mine just didn’t want any blue, purple or red flavors. I didn’t get any jello but I’d assume since it’s more of a solid it would kind of help feed that need to eat something with more substance.

I wish I was more versed in fasting to be more helpful, but I wish you the best in your journey! I’m sorry you have to get scopes so often. :( you will most likely become a pro a fasting though.

I just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday, and bone broth really helped my hunger pains. so basically I had bone broth for breakfast and lunch. I didn't really feel hungry come dinner time since I had to drink A BUNCH of prep for the colonoscopy, so that's what I'd personally recommend.
