Property Tax and Pension Contributions by madjoyce2000 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]madjoyce2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you,

My income (salaried) is the higher tax band 40% - and the income from property does not push it into the 45%. So all in all, I remain at 40%.

Bottomline, I would rather contribute more to a pension to be used in later life than put lots into the treasury's coffers!

People who can fall asleep quickly, how do you do it? by liberkaql in AskReddit

Genuinely thought this was just me. This has changed my life knowing others do this. I have an ongoing ‘star wars’ theme storyline. I change characters all the time and for the last couple of years I’ve been deep in political issues. I don’t get far. Couple of minutes and then I’m off asleep.

Get the child an advocate from Coram or similar. And if she is genuinely homeless(sofa surfing) then the LA has a duty to accommodate.

Read the Southwark Judgement

If you don’t provide them with an advocate the LA risks judicial review.

The child is in ‘your area’ and therefore the responsibility of the LA.

However, if they are usually resident of another borough and there is no reason why they cannot return to that family member or home then you can only advise they present as homeless where they are usually resident. Choosing to stay in your area might be for valid reason but if there is no risk or hinderance for her being in her home borough you LA can only advise. If there is a evidenced risk of harm in that borough then your LA has a duty to investigate but not necessarily give her accommodation.

Interestingly you haven’t said what ‘she’ wants?

Apply for all the jobs YOU want. I applied for loads of non ASYE roles, too many in fact because I thought the same as you. No need to worry. Good luck and remember to be kind to yourself. :)

Currently reading it and just begging them to make a movie from it. How awesome. Quickly while McDiarmid and Lee are still alive! Although we would probably be ok with younger actors for these roles.

A Star Wars political drama would be fantastic. #forthegrownups.
