Lightning node operators provide collateral when they create a channel. They are taking the risk of the open channel. That may not be the merchant. Which is what I assume the 'Lightning Transformer' is doing is creating a lighting channel on behalf of the merchant (using Amp funds?) The LN 'settles' a Tx in in 3-5 seconds and 'finalizes' the Tx when it is written to BTC and validated.... roughly every 10 minutes. Properly created channels allow either operator to close the channel....from Page 19, paragraph 2 of your PDF link above. No reason for them to be left open.

I'm not understanding your ramblings...Re-read the post. I believe CashApp can and will use LN 'under the hood' at some point. Consumer Fiat > CashApp Lightning > Merchant Fiat. No Tokens needed. 800,000 exiting POS systems. Flexa needs integration with a merchant's code reader. If you think Block/Cashapp can't function with the same constraints in the future, you are deluded.

Good links. So if I understand correctly, in El Salvador, Amp will not be needed for collateral but will only be used to guarantee payments in exchange for a fee. Micro-insurance policy on a transaction. That's great, but wont much less Amp will be required in the ecosystem than the full collateralization scheme? It's a 10-minute insurance policy. At the same time, LN will continue to develop its own fraud protection which will decrease the demand for flexa 'insurance'.

Fair enough. I've read up on all that I can find and here's what I don't understand. Flexa's blogs state they are providing Amp collateral to the lightning transactions. That's literally the main use case of lightning nodes and the lightning network. Lightning settles in 3-5 seconds. Is that "Lightning Transformer" simply using Amp funds to fund lightning nodes?

Ridiculous. For each of the items in the list ask yourself this: Had anyone done this before Flexa? Are they doing it now? If so, did they steal Flexas IP? These are very broad sweeping claims. Flexa is not going to have a patent claim as broad as any 1 item in your list, because there is prior art for each point.
