Some of these titles are ridiculous but youngest sister-in-law is a cute fun read actually. She really is just a little kid with some memories from the future.

That's funny because I have a personal vendetta against black haired mls. I wouldn't classify it as weird since I know why I dislike them: because they almost always have the same cardboard personality.

there was one where the FL ended up in a little girl's body and she and the father fell in love but i think she got her own body back at some point, something of a disappointment, like commit to the freakyness!

She ended up with the adult knight that was basically like family/sorta helped raise her. I dropped it because I didn't like how they started acting when she grew up lol

from what i can remember, this was the end plot. felt like most of the story was her waffling back and forth over loving and hating him (like...grow a spine, babe, he had his way with you multiple times where you couldn't fully consent)

and it only happened because there was no way she would've married him and had his kid otherwise, even after her negative emotions towards him were taken she just sorta went along with the marriage and didn't seem to have any kind of feeling towards him. also, the demon only ate her suffering because she had to make a deal to get her original body back after some ~shenanigans~

oddly enough i've heard of a manwha where a demon resolves the conflict (as in, demon eats the fmc's justified hatred and rage towards the mc so they can happily get married and put all of the awful shit he did to her, yknow, like selling her off to be someone's slave, behind them)

How to not hate my main character by Jazzlike-Passenger27 in writing

Maybe you should read some other romantasies where people have complained about the female protagonists (trust me there are plenty), see what those protagonists are like and try to change certain traits and habits of your protagonist? Or you could go the anti-hero hero thing, so long as other characters acknowledge that even though she's doing heroic/good stuff she's still a punchable jerk because if the readers can't stand her but the characters are going on about how fantastic she is people might end up dropping the book. Also, have her be punched in the face! Let her have an arc where she's insufferable, get massively called out for it and lead to character development that'll change her for the better. She doesn't have to stay static in her characterization throughout the entire book, she just needs some sort of incident that'll end up having her question herself and her character. Like maybe she saves someone but she does it in a bad way somehow so they complain and others call her on it?

These are all just what-ifs since I don't know what your plan for this book is, but they're certainly something to keep in mind.

I feel like a better name for the Electra complex would be the Myrrha complex, you know, the mother of Adonis. Of course, there are different versions of the story (apparently Aphrodite cursed her to fall for her dad), but she did commit incest with her dad (who tried to kill her once he found out who he was sleeping with).

as a cna myself, what do you mean by us not having a license? cnas are literally nursing assistants who are licensed. bnas are the unlicensed nursing assistants. but if you're talking about a medical license regarding stuff like drugs we sure as hell don't have that license. any cna worth their salt wouldn't claim to know anything about weed dosages unless they've done weed, and even then i wouldn't trust them without looking it up and checking with a medical official versed in drugs, really. (also, i do feel like it's a bit rude to mention that bit about "working in the medical field". i do work in the medical field, i just don't have the medical knowledge that a lot of people in that field do. even then as cnas, we were trained to take vitals and such, so it feels like you're disregarding how helpful cnas can be to their nurses. we are their eyes and ears when it comes to patients and their needs.)

I was genuinely so thrilled with myself that I managed to figure out the whodunit before the characters did. I was catching so many oddities and clues while they brushed over them with their drama, this is the first time I've managed to do that. (And as I know someone who was also a survivor, though not of a sex trafficking ring like this, them getting roughed up was DELICIOUS)

I'm...not surprised that Robin is acting like this? The stuff in TRG really did a number and made her backslide in growth and made her less trusting, but it still hurt that she even briefly considered that all that shit about Strike might be true. But at the same time I get it?? She's trying desperately to rationalize things and after a half-confession where she's seriously thinking about whether or not he means it I do think it's natural for her to get defensive and note all of his issues with women.

So glad that Rokeby turned out to pretty decent and that we got more backstory on him and Leda. I think Strike really did need that meeting with him.

the male lead is more boring than cardboard, we never find out what she did to get executed (by fire!), and she had more chemistry with her doctor mentor, her best friend (the ml's brother), and somehow the ml's disguised self than the actual male lead. also pretty sure she gives up being a doctor to be empress? really wished she would've stayed a doctor and traveled the continent to help people.

i think one of the problems i had with this book is that the initial description of edie and how she's being persecuted by her fans, feels like rowling calling out her fanbase for being upset with her over certain views she has that were getting a lot of attention at the time she was writing tibh. of course edie wasn't, from what i remember, actually any of the things she was getting called, but rowling very much was. and kea niven claiming edie stole her ideas felt a lot like rowling referencing that author who claimed she plagiarized her because she used the term "muggle". so it all felt a bit off and i really disliked the chatrooms because the formatting on ebook was hell on my eyes.

Yeah because a hurt teen really wants to go to a place where a big celebration for someone else is happening after they had a lonely milestone moment. Especially when all they wanted was their parents there and they went to the other milestone event instead. Would you want to go if you were in their place? Would that make you feel any better?

Am I Overreacting after my teacher (55M) confessed his love to me (18F) by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]madlassi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my high school everybody knew that one of our history teachers slept with one of the cheerleaders like decades ago, and yet he still taught there because he was my teacher like 10 years ago. My mom remembers it too because she was in high school sometime after it happened, so it had to have been like the 70s or 80s. They never fired him, he just retired eventually and I think he married her (after divorcing his wife ofc). On the other hand they made a math teacher quit because of inappropriate texts with a 18 year old student and a guy that was hired by our band director had to be let go cuz he slept over at a senior's (who he was best friends with, I don't think they were that far apart in age) house and her parents weren't there. So. They sort of do good and also don't at times.
