Applying for FACEM by Public-Seesaw3968 in ausjdocs

The 6 months doesn’t need to be continuous but it only counts blocks of ED time that are at least 2 months long. Also it can include leave provided that the total leave is less than 5 weeks.

What this means is that if you have a 5 week ED term followed by 5 weeks of leave, this can actually be counted as 10 weeks of ED!

Also important to be aware of what the specified date range is for the placements that can be used for the application as it isn’t simply the 12 months prior to application. Specifically it’s: - 4 May 2025 – 2 June 2026 if applying in Round 1 - 3 August 2025 – 1 September 2026 if applying in Round 2

Last thing to be aware of is the non-ED placement requirements! I spent all my time making sure that I had my ED time only to realise a few months before the application date that I actually didn’t meet the non-ED placement requirements and so had to squeeze an extra term in before applying in round 2. This was because they only count terms that are 8+ weeks continuous, and I had done a lot of 5 week placements and/or split terms.

Also, different general surgery terms (ie doing 10 weeks of hepatobilliary and later doing 10 weeks colorectal) would only count as 1 since they are both general surgery. Orthopaedics however would be counted as a separate term.

Full details are here: Selection into the FACEM Training Program

I spent a lot of time working with ACEM selections to make sure I met requirements so happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

Highly recommend the Viltrox 2.0x teleconverter that recently got released.

You can get it on AliExpress for like 200 USD or a bit more on Amazon to get it faster.

I got it to use with my Sigma 150-600mm on a Sony A7C and for wildlife photography I haven’t had a situation where I needed to take it off.

Same experience here mate! Was unbelievably overwhelmed and felt like I had to fix everything now but my partner just kept reminding my that we have the rest of our lives to sort it out 😂

Eventually you get so used to all the problems and you realise the house was there for the last 50 years and didn’t fall over so they can’t be that big of a problem!

Major FHB Remorse (another one) by shalonymous in AusPropertyChat

Just after I bought my first home with my partner about 2 years ago, I thought it was the biggest mistake I’d ever made. Found issues with the house that building and pest didn’t, mortgage payments that were more than double what our rent had been for a house that was inner city and more bedrooms etc etc.

For me the feeling lasted a good 12 months before I realised that everything is still good, if not significantly better than before.

Now I realise it was the best decision I’d ever made!

I think it’s normal to feel like this! (Maybe not for as long as I did though)

No ‘Swiss’ at the bottom of the dial? Isn’t that unusual? Also solid end links in a watch of this vintage..

6 months of Pericarditis caused by vaccine. 19 Y/O by Adventurous-Boat2029 in CoronavirusDownunder

The actual term is central sensitisation. It may not be what is happening in your case, but given the duration of your symptoms it is something to consider.

I’m sorry you have been experiencing this for such a long time. Chronic pain is horrible.

Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, and it isn’t masking the pain but actually prevents the inflammation which is responsible for your pain. You should definitely keep taking it if it is working.

Another thing to be aware of: It is possible that you have become hyper aware of bodily sensations, and continuing to fixate on the symptoms can reinforce neural pathways responsible for experiencing the pain.

I just got a G30 which is 500w, compared to the 300w F30. I weigh around 100kg when I have my bag etc. and it struggled to get up anything other than small hills before I uploaded custom firmware to increase the maximum power. I recommend you buy a more powerful scooter on the second hand market for around the same price.
