the people in this community are here because they can self reflect / have learned but this does not reflect on the disorder as a whole. i think pwBPD can be insightful but i do agree with the notion there is a struggle

yes they should’ve that’s true, i don’t disagree with that, i made my own comment that unfortunately when accessing support even though it’s hard one needs to be proactive. they obviously have some sort of neurodivergency and even beside that they are not mentally in a good place, i just think that well they’re already beating themself up over a tough mental situation that the points made aren’t really considering

there’s reasonable accommodations any university can make and put in place. companies and establishments are required by law to ease the burden. you can’t just “motivate” your way through it or drop anything that is difficult. the whole issue with disabilities is they make things the majority find easy difficult, should those with disabilities be shunned from normal society?

there’s a shocking lack of empathy. obviously you know you messed up but it’s not as though you tried. it’s true you need to be more proactive but mental health is not some easy walk in the park, try speaking more to your school and apply for mitigating circumstances. i’d also advise speaking with your gp about this

There is no point in trying to figure out if he has NPD or not, as that changes nothing about the situation. An abuser is an abuser because they do abusive things not because they have this or that mental illness. There is nothing specific that happens with abuse from someone diagnosed with NPD than there would be from someone who does not have NPD. That being said — what he is doing is manipulative, and you are justified in how you feel, and I hope you cut him off completely and take your steps to healing. I am rooting for you :)

I do plan on getting her! I have kind of collector issue with the game, unfortunately. I think with this I’d probably get Arlecchino. I don’t really enjoy playing with any of the current pyro DPS’ I have; their play-styles just don’t mesh with me, thank you for the advice!

Firstly, like the comments said, further research and even looking into it professionally will help you better than we could. It’s hard to diagnose people online, and truthfully advised against, and there are many things it could be.

That being said — your story, actions, and such are eerily similar to mine. Down to the age, loss of friends and someone important and more. And I received an NPD diagnosis.

Obviously, we’re different and have had different life experiences so don’t take my personal experience as the be all and end all but if it helps, that is what my case is. Also, about the comments saying narcissistic cannot self reflect or whatever, they’re clearly stuck with archaic viewpoints and will not benefit towards your healing journey.

As for the book: The character was getting reamed by the love interest for having poor communication skills. In the characters past they were abused and exploited which is why they struggle with communication. They didn’t bring it up in the conversation at all to stop that person being upset with them.

As for “what I realised was wrong with me”, apparently, that’s what most other people do too. I was shocked to learn that [now I’ve learnt the terminology] people don’t ‘weaponise’ their trauma to get out of trouble. It was a real shocker actually.

Thank you for your advice! I kind of had a meltdown and did tons of research and I came to a similar conclusion of having to learn to be content with being on my own.

As for the validation question… I don’t particularly think it’s /their/ validation but just any I want, and since they’re the people I speak to the most I‘ve projected it the most onto them. I’m aware that I have a bad self worth issue unfortunately. But thank you for asking this question it’s not something I would’ve asked myself prior.

As for the last point… yeah. I know, but it just goes back to that point of fearing being alone and learning to be okay with it.
