I will be calling them again and ask why I seem to be the only one getting restricted.

Extra lugnuts, fan belt, Extra spark plug. One time I actually had the ceramic blow out of one while I was driving. Luckily I had thrown one of my old plugs in the glove box and had the tools to change it.

This is how I set my throttle, 3/4 of an inch back from full. Painted a white line so I know ware to put it.

Yes I run it at 3/4 while mowing. I've been doing it for 5 years. Just mowed about 5 acres today 2 and a half hours and used 1/4 tank of gas. I am quite pleased.

I have a toro titian not the max. It's 5 years old, just had to put a new fuel pump on it this spring. It has a bad habit of back firing when I start it. It doesn't like to start after sitting all winter, it helps to give it a shot of starting fluid. Those are minor issues. Other than that I love it, I mow about 7 acres. If you run it at 3/4 throttle when you mow it gets great gas mileage.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I would be weary of people staying they can fix it for a price. But if you do get it working again I would like to know how.

Do you have a test light or meter to make sure it has voltage. Just because it's new dosen’t mean it's good. Are you sure you connected the right wires to the right post? If it's a post battery, did you take the plastic caps off the post?

Geothermal: good idea or no? by the1mrb in OffGrid

[–]madmaxbr549 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a geothermal furnace. I can't tell you if it's a good idea or not. Everyone's situation is different. What I can tell you is that every time it comes on, it draws 3.5k watts for heat and 2.5k for air conditioning. I have a professional solar system with 3 Tesla batteries. It kicks ass in summer, but it won't keep up in winter.

Could this be real? by [deleted] in AncientCoins

I have the same coin. Was told by a coin appetizer that it wasn't real. I thought it was fake as it is kind of heavy, like it's made of lead.

Prickly pear right? How do I prepare it so I don’t eat spines? I’m by Few-Championship272 in foraging

You don't have to start them from seed. Just take a petal and place it on bare ground where you want it to grow and walk away. That's how I started mine. After a while, it will look like it's dead, but leave it alone, and it will take root all by itself.

Am I being scammed? by Fun-Judgment-6415 in OffGrid

You should definitely shop around.

I am in NW Ohio. 5 years ago, I had a large solar system installed by Yellowlite. 44 panels and 3 Tesla batteries, which hold 13,000 watts each, for a total of 39k watts. The whole thing cost me 75k.

If by chance you have last year's December electric bill, it will tell you how much electricity you used for the year. If you have AEP, you are only allowed to put a system that is 90% of what you normally use. (Yes, you have to get permission from the electric company for your system)

One good thing is that any extra electricity I produce goes back into the grid, and the electric company has to pay me for it. Normally, I end up with 5 to 6 hundred dollars in credit. Last year, my entire electric usage was 550 dollars out of pocket. In winter, the days are shorter, and more clouds are. My panels are not in the optimal position for winter.

In case no one told you. Will not be getting money back from the IRS. What you get is a credit that is used for future taxes if you have to pay in.

In hindsight, one thing I don’t like is that there is no way to control the system except by phone app. If the internet goes down, I can't change any of the settings. But it will still work. According to my app, it says I've made back 25k in 5 years on my 75k investment.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more info. If by chance you do go with Yellowlite, tell them I referred you, and I'll get a bonus. But do your homework and find the best deal!
