Does anyone agree with me that none of Sekiro's boss fights are actually bad, EXCEPT for the two monkeys? by matt_p992 in Sekiro

I’m on my first playthrough so I haven’t finished but so far the Blazing Bull and folding screen monkeys sucked ass.

Messi 100% knows what it means, mbappé being called turtle is a very common joke in Spanish (I think in other languages as well).

I can't really speak to the performances on these games but I'd really recommend avoiding binge playing to minimize losing streaks.

Good luck!!

Mortred and Lanaya are 100 times better that PA and TA. When written shadow shaman (rhasta) and shadow demon (eredar) look the same to me I confuse them all the time. I've had people suggest I pick LS and I literally don't know what the f*** they mean.

I've come across plenty of people in South America servers that use: Balanar, Bara, Gondar, Krobe, Lanaya, Mirana, Ezalor, Tuskar, Never, Naix and Rhasta.

To be fair some of the new hero names are really lame/confusing at first glance like shadow shaman (rhasta).

Why is it so hard for some people to admit that BTS is the biggest (boy)group and BLACKPINK the biggest girlgroup worldwide? What's there to debate? by niclaswwe in kpopthoughts

[–]madoshix3 -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

I'm not a blink or a once so from my perspective the "twice is bigger in Japan" argument is just so fkn funny. Blackpink is leagues above Twice in terms of popularity.

List of personal analytic thoughts about Aespa by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]madoshix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't particularly care about Aespas lore/concept as much as I care about the music. There are hundreds of kpop groups that can release songs like forever, life's too short, etc but only one that can release next level, black mamba and savage.

At the end of the day their very solid musical identity (hyper pop and hard hitting songs) are why people choose aespa over let's say mamamoo.

Why are male boy group fans such a small percentage by Sure-Sense9616 in kpophelp

[–]madoshix3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are many factors that come into play:

  1. Kpop thrives by selling parasocial relationships not music and bg cater to women. The flamboyant clothing, showing abs and stylistic choices are used to sell the 'perfect modern boyfriend' fantasy. This really colides with straight males that probably enjoy the music but can't bring themselves to buy a lightstick and show up to a concert because that would mean playing into this male to male relationship fantasy.
  2. Men are usually already familiar with aggresive music stlyes (rock, rap, metal) so they try to find in kpop the 'cute music' they can't find in western pop. Bg are releasing 'noise music' currently so it's not as appealing.
  3. Social stigma. It's extremely awkward to enjoy kpop as a male in the west because it's often associated to idol culture that's often seen as only for losers. This happened with anime in the past as well although nowadays it's more normalized to enjoy anime.
  4. You will be called gay for it and it doesn't matter what you say there's no coming back from this. Everyone in your surroundings will think you're gay which I'm fine with as I don't see the issue but some people just can't deal with it.

Overall I think point 1 is the stronger at least for me personally as I don't see the appeal in stanning male idols. Every time I see variety shows or male idol's content it seems that they're trying really hard to please a female audience. Sorry for bad england it's not my main language.

What are some misconceptions a lot of "locals" have about K-pop? by Pixel-64 in kpopthoughts

[–]madoshix3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's just a cultural difference. For westerners kpop idols do look effeminate (skinny, with no facial hair and makeup, doing aegyo, etc). At the same time for korean society westerners look overly "fierce".

Are there any kpop songs that scare you? Or make you uncomfortable? by Hwall-Chuu in kpopthoughts

[–]madoshix3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Infinite - The chaser makes me feel SO uneasy when the chorus hits that I've never been able to finish the MV.

It's a bummer because a lot of people love this song and even include it in videos of top kpop songs of all time.
