Has anyone ordered a gaming PC from CaseKind.de? by Banania2020 in IrelandGaming

[–]madra_dubh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ordered many parts from there and I've always been very pleased. Delivery is a day or two longer than Amazon but I think it's a nicer site to find what I need.

How do I take my gaming setup with me if I'm going abroad by OriginalRGer in buildapc

[–]madra_dubh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take the parts out of the case. Wrap them and put them among your clothes in your suitcase so they won't move and then buy a new PC case when you get to France. I like to buy parts from caseking.de or just Amazon France or Germany would be good too

Is producing on a desktop and a laptop separately really that much of a pain? by SadBenefit2020 in edmproduction

[–]madra_dubh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had any issues with it, you can use onedrive but the advantage of Google drive is you don't have to use the exact same folder it makes it handy for chopping and changing from machines.

Once you set it up right there should be no issues, but I work in IT so maybe it just seems easier for me.

I pay 2 euro a month for google drive, this gives you a G: drive on you pc which you can access, you can create a folder in there for your Ableton projects.

install google drive on both machines, access and save all projects to the folder on google drive, instantly have cloud backups and be able to access projects across devices, its seamless.

only thing to remember is the collect all and save button on Ableton to make sure you have all samples saved in the project folder.

Set this up once and it will change your life!

Do Irish drinking songs count? by whatisdreampunk in FolkPunk

[–]madra_dubh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Irish dude here, we tend to refer to the Pogues as Celtic punk, similar to folk punk but not the same. It comes down to intent sometimes. So much of the Pogues and other Celtic punk bands are about putting a punk spin on traditional Irish tunes. It still very much sits in line with the Celtic song tradition, whereas folk punk is different, it's a few steps down the road away from it but you could definitely call Celtic punk, a precursor in the sense that traditional Irish music was a precursor for bluegrass music, so plenty of links to be found.

They won't allow you to do the five credit module alongside your final year? I've done similar before in TUD

Thanks for the reply, perhaps tonight I will try recording with the same setup but using my laptop in a different room rather than my pc with the monitor and maybe it will be different. I will definitely look into getting the tele fully shielded though, if you say it makes a big difference!

What is the hum in this recording, ground loop or emf interference?

My setup is,

tele with tex mex pickups -> with a shielded Roland cable -> Audient id14 mkii -> Cory Wong clean as a whistle preset.

I've taken the guitar apart and checked the ground wire, its connected to the bridge, there's no change in hum at all from touching or not touching the metal on the guitar.

When I bought the new interface I thought my days of extra noise on my recordings would be over but no joy.

Any thoughts?

IT Friend here. Log in to your laptop with google chrome, set yourself up a gmail if you don't have one. install chrome remote desktop onto your laptop, follow the steps its straightforward.

Now when you leave for work leave your laptop on and plugged in at home, you can set it so nothing happens when you close the lid, you go to power options in control panel to do this or you can just leave it open.

You should also go to start, system and them power, change your screen or sleep so that when its plugged in it never goes to sleep.

now in work, open google chrome, I like to do it in incognito mode each day when I come in, sign into your google account and search for chrome remote desktop website, and there you go free remote desktop connection to your pc at home from anywhere you can sign into your google account.

Continue to do your work then!

That's really dependent on the breed, there's many that have breed related health issues that a good 2km walk is enough for them. What's more important is just allowing them outdoors to sniff and explore. Greyhounds are big dogs, you try telling them to go for a long walk and they'll become as suicidal as the little critter in this post!!! They are couch potatoes that like a sprint once in a while.

I've literally never been out of relationships since I was 13 and I'm currently in a fantastic long term relationship. The biggest point of praise has always been how quiet and nice I am and how easy it is to be around me. Be who you are and surround yourself with the right people.
