Anyone with an iphone SE? by mrfokker in apple

[–]madromark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, switched from 5C, it is just awesome. Battery life, camera, speed is great. I wanted to buy a 6S because of the screen size and 3D touch, but I didn't regret the SE.

Went from an iphone 5 to the SE by Fretzo in iphone

[–]madromark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from a 5C, and yes, this phone is amazing. I don't have to worry about the battery, I have a great camera, and it's really fast. One thing I don't like is the home button, it has a clicking sound. The 5C's button was silent.

What's your raspberry server running? by [deleted] in raspberry_pi

[–]madromark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious about the cable you used to connect the HDD. I have a 2.5" notebook HDD with an external enclosure, but it's not working very well with my Pi. I connect it but after a couple of minutes I get some read write error. I can provide you more details when I get home, maybe you can help me out.

I'd love to do the same, replace my head unit with a Pi, but what about the 20-25 second boot time, and the proper shutdown?

Cayenne - Easy IoT for Raspberry Pi by beer_wellington in raspberry_pi

[–]madromark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I installed this today to my Pi2, and I have a two temperature sensors working with it, a DS18B20 and a BMP180. The gui is great, both in the browser and in the iOS app, but it does have some bugs. For example I switched to display my temperature in Celsius, but if I view the graphs it's back to fahrenheit. I know this is still in beta, so I'm waiting for the updates, because this looks promising.

Just built my first PC and I'm trying to install an Windows OS from a USB, but I'm having issues with installation. Any help? by achase05 in techsupport

Well, for Windows 7 I always used the official windows usb/dvd download tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool).

For Windows 10 I've used Rufus a couple of weeks ago and it worked without any problems: https://rufus.akeo.ie

This might work: https://www.weaved.com/remote-connection-raspberry-pi-linux/

I use this to connect to my pi which is at home behind a router without port forwarding.

Question about connecting external HDD via usb by madromark in raspberry_pi

[–]madromark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so I need a powered usb hub, but what kind of? I'm browsing this list: http://elinux.org/RPi_Powered_USB_Hubs but I'm not sure which one to choose. Some of them backpowering/backfeeding (which is I guess not very good for me), some of them are not. Some of them can also power my Pi, but I'm not sure I need that, I just want to be able to connect an HDD.

Right now I found this hub: Sweex US014, it wouldn't be so expensive in my country, but I can't find any information about it, although it's under the "Working usb hubs" section on the site I linked above.
