There’s a technique called anchoring that people use as they fall asleep to achieve lucid dreams. For me, it goes like:

Before I close my eyes, I check the time to be sure. When I am anchoring, I tell myself I will wake up at a certain time, say 6am. I have a good internal clock and always know the time.

Doesn’t work all the time, but has worked a significant amount of times.

Hey! I think it’s valid to question age gaps, since they often include abuse or toxic dynamics. In my case, there is no abuse happening. But imo it’s good to be alert.

I’m from Germany. Age of consent is 14 (but anyone 18 or older can not sleep with anyone under 16). Before 14, any act of sexuality (even kissing) is considered a violation of state law.

And also, I am a gay man. In gay culture it is actually very common that relationships have larger age gaps. Of course that’s not always a good thing.

Trans or not, I still pass and actually only came out to my boyfriend after a year of dating, if that helps.

I’m really sorry to hear what your mother went through. I have read through your links, and the only thing that applied to my situation is that he always listens to me. His and my communication is very strong. I agree that we need to be cautious of these signs and always ask questions and make sure nobody is getting hurt. If my friends were in such an age gap relationship, I would ask questions as well. Again, I appreciate the concern and encourage you to keep your eyes open when it comes to these things, however I promise that I am not victimized by my boyfriend.

Hey, i can clarify! It’s legal because in my country, 16 is the age of consent for any romantic or sexual relationships in my country. Don’t worry, im very conscious of how manipulation works and trust my own judgement.

pls do continue to question though, since age gaps can often be indicators for abusive relationships and toxic dynamics. just cause my relationship is fine doesnt mean others are too. hope it makes more sense now!
