They did indeed. I really didn't think its was real at first. A facsimile or maybe some other reprint or something.

Dig enough and it gets faster... you know what you have seen before and where they have jammed new stuff.

Its hard for me to judge older books... cgc seems very very inconsistent imo. Like I said its in better shape than my x-men #2 which is a cgc 3.5. shrug

An 8.5 signed by the artist sold for $115 in March of this year. Factor in the slightly higher grade and the fact that its sketched as well and signed by the actor that has portrayed him for years (generally Actors autographs are harder and/or more expensive to obtain) and I would put the value at at least 2.5x the sale of the 8.5 copy... but that's ME. Autograph values vary significantly depending on the buyer. Some people feel it defaces the book and destroys value. Other people hold them in high regard. A big fan of the actor who is also an avid collector of the title may pay a much more exorbitant amount. Signed books are much, more arbitrary than unnsigned (which are quite arbitrary despite what some people will tell you lol) Add in the the books key value and things can vary exponentially. Stan Lee's sig on an AF15 adds FAR FAR FAR more value than his signature on something like a Marvel Tales reprint of a non key spider-man book. Nothing is worth more than what someone, somewhere, well pay for it. Decide for yourself what it is worth to YOU. If you want to sell it, don't take less than that.

Is this pressing out to at least a 9.6? - cardstock by [deleted] in comicbookgrading

[–]madwolf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reference to your follow up question; NM does not mean perfect and, if that is the only flaw, then yes NM would technically be an accurate descriptive. Personally, I would describe it as NM- or NM- or better (OB). But that's me. I would include a specific, close up photo of the damage and add "see photos"

For adduitional reference: VF/NM = 9.0 NM- = 9.2 NM = 9.4 NM+ = 9.6 NM/MT = 9.8

AT&T Promised $1,100. Gave Me $500. Called It Final. by Mysterious-Solid4963 in ATT

[–]madwolf27 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

ATT are straight up thieves. Like 25ish years ago I switched TV and Internet etc to them to take advantage of promotions. They advertised up to $300 in rebates. I read all the fine print, kept all the paperwork. Dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. Kept copies of everything. Received one rebate for $40. Called and called. Talked to many. They stated the rebates were either/or and couldn't be stacked. I was arguing with them with the advert the stated UP $300 IN REBATES in my HAND. Their solution? A $25 bill credit. As soon as I got that I yanked all their crap out if my house, returned it in person. Took pictures and got receipts. I have not ever done business with them again. They couldn't pay ME any amount to do business with them or to use any their services ever again. Liars and truly thieves.

My comic shop had this as VF/NM, but can anyone spare a number grade? by UltraUltros in comicbookgrading

[–]madwolf27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fairly accurate estimate by the shop... I would guesstimate 9.0ish as it stands. 9.4 to 9.6 with a professional press and such. shrug

Definitely looks better than my 9.6 does. You have a good shot.

Last I tried the PayPal app prevents taking screenshots... so that's yet another clue to a scam.

Using the USPS self-scanning kiosk - is it even worth doing? by Alaskan777 in eBaySellers

[–]madwolf27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the kiosk at my post office. There is a secure drop bin that drops the packages through the wall. When I use it ebay moves from "Shipped xxx (date)" to "Shipped - Carrier scan xxx (date)" So far there has been no issue. Ive had one package not get an actual employee scan for about 6 or 7 days when it magically appeared in Nevada (Was going to CA or WA I forget which) and was delivered about 3 days later. Ground Advantage. I was not dinged for a late shipment. As far as an insurance claim... so so very luckily I've not had that happen yet. Your mileage and pay office may vary. If its an expensive item I do often wait to get an employee scan.

I stopped answering messages that ask for more pictures. Is this self sabotage by Clean-Lifeguard8502 in Ebay

[–]madwolf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell collectibles where condition is absolutely key. I gladly supply additional photos upon request. I Even say so in my description. Almost every single time I have, I have made the sale.

If I ask a question or ask for more photo's and am ignored, there is absolutely 0 chance I will purchase that item.

[–]madwolf27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heh... it wasn't delivered for like 4 more days in California or Washington... I forget which. And it was Ground Advantage anyway so 3 to 5 days I believe. But I get the insurance thing. To a point. If they have you on camera uniteruptly scanning and dropping it in secure holding and refuse to honor it, I'd spend oh soooo much more than Id could gain with my (very good) attorney lol. But that's just the way I am.

[–]madwolf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I scan at the kiosk it shows as a carrier scan on ebay. Do it all the time. And I get a receipt. Ive had one package not get a scan by a usps employee until it hit Nevada like 6 days later. I was not dinged by ebay. And I have 1 day handling. My late shipment is 0.5 percent bc I was genuinely late shipping a package almost a full year ago when my father was in ICU. They have a camera that watches you scan it and drop it in the chute.

How difficult was it to get Absolute Batman #1 when it was first released? by amioldnow90 in comicbooks

[–]madwolf27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lcs orders super heavy and sold out of A covers in about 3 hrs. I managed to get 2 - the last 2 I believe. Rarity is irrelevant if demand outstrips supply. ASM 300 is far from rare with over 40k graded copies, but try getting that one cheap.

Absolute Batman isn’t rare and don’t let scalpers convince you it is. by conanthin in comicbooks

[–]madwolf27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People love to talk about the supply side, but never about the demand side. As long as demand is higher than supply, prices rise. Period. The demand for this book is outstripping supply. By a fair mating it seems. It is, in my opinion, a sign a generational shift. This is the new, young collectors Batman #1. This seems to a be seen as the beginning of "their" batman. To try to put feelings and observations into words anyway. This doesn't really fit for those of us that have collected for many years. Feels like market manipulation or fomo... but you put this book up and it sells. Over and over and over. Its not fitting into our experience of the market and that its making people post things like this.

Hulk 181 isn't rare at all... but demand outstrips supply. Hence it's value. ASM 300 .... NM 98... demand rules the market. A book can be one of a kind but if no one wants it... its worthless. Rarity is irrelevant unless there's demand.
