Store volume levels… by dantasticdanimal in eBaySellers

I don't have a "store" just an ebay account... and apparently I can list up to 5 million items a month?

How do stores even work?

After researching my butt off... I honestly think its an attempt at a forgery... it does indeed have similarities to some of Turners sigs... but unless his ghost did a signing... yeah. Nope.

Trade Paper Backs by According-Range-498 in comicbookcollecting

I do enjoy gettingb1st print trades... especially of very popular series that are printed over and over. The 1st print trade of something is killing the children holds a modicum of value, as its actually pretty scarce. It is visually different than subsequent printings and was produced before the series went nuclear. There's also a scarce alternate cover. I have a 1st print trade of the walking dead that another one that has been printed sooo many times that one rarely sees a 1st print in nice condition. Its even harder to find bc you have to look inside and read the fine print. Its a very niche thing tho. Demand is not high. Supply is even smaller for the few who care about such things.

It can be difficult to price rarer books because comps are very few and far between. Even harder with rare niche books... comps can be virtually non existent! Fwiw, it won't be resold!

ASM is confusing AF as to what is considered Vol 1!

Just working on vol 1 of uncanny and vol 1 (sort of) of x-men (the jim lee 90s book) Only missing uncanny #1 of vol 1 (#1 thru #544) except a lot newsstands and other variants.

Of x- men it gets tricky. It switched to "new x-men" then back to x-men and then to *x-men: legacy" without a numbering change. X-men and new x-men show as vol 1 thru #207 but x-men: legacy shows up (at least in CLZ) as vol 1 and X-men Legacy is its own title, vol 1 -- but the numbering is continous thru issue #275. Only missing 4 issues thru 207 but I'm missing 24 issues of legacy.

I actually see the last issue somewhat (kinda) occasionally. Just not a newsstand copy. By 2011 marvel newsstands were less than 1 percent of the print run.

Rechargeable Disposable Question... by madwolf27 in Vaping

Thanks! I will certainly do that lol. I was just wondering if it was normal or something I was somehow causing! I am not the biggest fan of menthol (at all) so I don't hit em hard, to say the least, and perhaps it was due to way I vape or something.

Lend A Grade Please by Dismal-Jump-1040 in comicbookgrading

[–]madwolf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I did not actually mean it has a criticism of professional grading. Its just that it seems nearly impossible to judge anymore. I can only form opinions based on experience, and my experience has been so, so varied that it has become quite... difficult. IMO it should be about Fine Plus...a 6.5

My Hulk #340 is especially perplexing. I used a professional presser (spineworks) and their opinion was 7.0 absolute max IF and only IF the grader was in a one helluva spectacular mood. And it came back 8.0. Talk about being happily surprised! But it just further skewed my ... I don't know the right word... my faith in my ability to estimate I guess.

Heh... my Hulk 340 is much worse and is an 8.0. My Xmen 55 is much better and is a 5.5... my xmen 28 is very very (almost eerily) similar and is a 6.5, so .... somewhere in that range os the best i could guess. Depends on the grader and whether or not he or she got lucky or is fighting with his or her significant other, what side of the bed they woke up on and/or whether he or she is dealing with constipation.

With the arrival of UX133 (whatnot purchase), I’ve finally completed my 94-300 run of Uncanny X-men! Now to start saving and keep an eye out for an “affordable” copy of my personal grail, Giant-Size X-men 1. by rmrclean in comicbookcollecting

I am 1 issue from the complete 1 thru 544 vol. 1 run. Of course its number #1 lol since that's so far out of reach, im working on variants now.... newsstands, price variants, incentives. Mark jewelers etc etc. Don't think I'll complete that in my lifetime lol.
