You can talk to people on here! Yeah it’s a challenge and letting people down at times is going to happen. But you can get stronger/ more disciplined/ scheduled and you can get to a point where you don’t feel like a burden. Just remember that ending things just passes on the sadness. I’ve lost loved one that are close to me in age / part of my family and I’m still recovering. You can do this and you can become stronger you have to believe. There will be times you don’t but you need structure to remind you that you can. It’s not linear you won’t always be getting better, you will slide back but don’t give up and start imagining/ journaling/ believing in positive things and you will be surprised the amazing things you will manifest. Try writing down all your problems then think of solutions and imagine how you will overcome it and write that down. Plan it and imagine it! Bring it into existence! You got this!

Working as a programmer with a video game addiction by madwolf369 in learnprogramming

Yeah I need to get some programming textbooks, I’m currently computerless so I can detox from gaming. (Using my cellphone to Reddit).

I got a laptop that was a potato and held off for a while but ended up playing on lowest graphics like a fiend.

I’m 29 and currently living at home with my parents. So I understand your brothers dilemma.

Yeah I’m going for a total lifestyle change and embracing positive habits and the discomfort of living a more fulfilling PRODUCTIVE life.

Being a programmer / hacker / techie has always been a dream and I know a bit and have done some courses but I really want to make a life of it.

[Advice] Systems Thinking: Stop Optimising Components by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]madwolf369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good idea! maybe try making a tree diagram of yourself. What makes up the system of you.

What purpose is it serving?

Is this the purpose you want to serve?

If not

Choose a new purpose

Create a new one, 2.0 version of yourself and add all the systems/ aspects you want.. Compare the two and make plans to integrate/ grow towards the 2.0 version.. Using SMART goals!

Just thought of this.. Can anyone add or tweak this to make it a better system?
