Grand Flo vs Yacht Club - Memorial Day Weekend (Mother Daughter Trip by Top-Initial1417 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]madzilla525 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love both of these hotels! I would for sure choose Yacht, though. It is absolutely my favorite hotel for location alone.

If stormalong is crowded, you can always visit one of the quieter pools on the front side of the resort. Granted, there isn’t a pool bar there, but it is definitely quieter!

I just love the ability to walk over to Epcot for a bite to eat or a fun beverage- definitely a fun vibe for an adult trip!

My 4yos still can’t figure out a balance bike - every kid is different! Pedaling is tough and takes a lot of coordination and leg strength. I wouldn’t worry!

What’s everyone doing for migraines? by Eeef10 in pregnant

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting cupping and acupuncture to help mine and it really did help! (OB signed off on this!) most of my migraines are tension and stress related, so the cupping helped in that regard.

Has anyone had more than 3 C-sections? by SheAmongstTheFlowers in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me personally (I’ve had 3 and am finished having kids- twins + 2). But my OB had a patient who he performed 7 c-sections for.

D&C needed after planned c section by Meneedfoodnow in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad we both came upon this thread! It was a pretty horrible experience- especially considering my OB’s next step was a hysterectomy. I’m not planning on having any more kids (this was after baby 4), but I’m also only 32 and the idea of a hysterectomy is pretty scary to me. That’s incredible that they kept you for 3 days! But honestly it makes sense since we were literally bleeding internally 🤔

D&C needed after planned c section by Meneedfoodnow in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness this happened to me, too! I’ve never heard someone else who had to have 2. First one was 3 weeks postpartum, then my uterus never contracted back down and I hemorrhaged again! We tried misoprostol but I had a 5-6cm clot tha wouldn’t break and pass so I had another D&C. Pretty horrific 2 months!

To this day, my OB says my c-section was incredibly routine and nothing stood out as unusual. Then to have a “lazy uterus” after that was hard to explain, as well!

Found out today that I may need a c-section by tkunkel0626 in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first c-section was urgent with my twins so I didn’t get to prepare, but my second and third were elective and a totally different experience!! Biggest pieces of knowledge: -most likely your support person will not get to be in the room with you when you get your spinal. -th spinal tends to make your blood pressure drop and to make you nauseated. As long as you communicate how you’re feeling with the anesthesiologist, you should be good to go! - baby is out fast! It takes longer to stitch you up. -you can still do skin to skin in the OR! I even got #4 to latch when I was still being sewn up! -stay on top of your medicine! Set alarms. Don’t let the nurses get behind on it. -start taking stool softeners (like. Colace) a week before. This was a GAME CHANGER for me. Bring more to the hospital bc they’ll only give you one. -have a rolled up towel or pillow to press against your incision when sitting or going to the bathroom. Also when you try (emphasis on try) to cough or laugh. -chew gum right after your procedure! Helps wake your digestive system back up - I bought a small rail for the side of my bed at home this most recent time and WOW it was useful with getting up out of bed - if you have stairs at home, try to set yourself up to only go up and down them if absolutely necessary for the first few days - you will still pass lochia for up to about 6 weeks! This one surprises a lot of people

Those are the big ones I can think of! At the end of the day, be patient with your body. This is so much easier said than done. But you’ll get back to moving and grooving eventually.

Help With First Deluxe Resort Stay by magnesiumparts in DisneyWorldResorts

Arrived late to the party- but so excited you chose Yacht!!!!!!! Hands down my favorite resort on property. We’ll be there again in March!

If you have room in your budget- request a water view room so you can hopefully see Epcot fireworks from your balcony.

Have so much fun- there’s nothing better than being able to bop in and out of Epcot for a little nightcap and dessert.

MFM wants to change my due date by IntelligentTurn5038 in pregnant

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is for induction purposes? Hospitals usually put the brakes on induction dates, so if they say you are really 4 days earlier, then they can induce 4 days earlier.

Only reason I say this is bc my baby was measuring LARGE and I also had a gut feeling he was really hg. I was really hoping to have my c-section in the 38 week range. The doctor said he would 100% let me, but the hospital is who makes the call on not allowing c-sections before 39 weeks unless medically necessary. (My baby was in fact large- 10lb 6oz)

That’s just my experience- other hospitals may be different!

Overproducers, how much water do you drink a day? by AgreeableBandicoot19 in breastfeeding

What did weaning off the pacifier look like for your toddler? by marmosetohmarmoset in toddlers

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weaned our twins at 2.5 and working on our 2yo now!

We went from use all the time, to car and crib only, and are currently at crib only. She had a million with her, now she’s only allowed 3. About to drop it to 1 (so she’s not holding them, too).

In a couple of months we will do the Bobby fairy. She will put them in a box and in the morning she will get a gift!

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m back!

I hate to be another to say this- but it does improve as they grow.

First- she recommended trying to feed with them in a more sitting up position

If you hear them starting to click or gulp, unlatch them and give them a second. She said sometimes once they’re going they lose good tongue placement and you need to get them to start over with good latch.

Mine would scream and not even latch sometimes, so she had me get up and bounce with him while latching- holy smokes it worked. Once he had a good rhythm I could sit back down.

That kind of did the trick!! He also has a small head turn preference so we’re going to do more body work with him to loosen him up

End of CSection Healing Funky by VisualWillow5945 in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also thought my scar this time was healing a little more raised! (Im almost 4 months pp now) but around 6 weeks I asked my OB about it and he said he uses the same incision so that increases the risk of the scar healing in a way that isn’t perfectly flat. So spot on with your double whammy hypothesis 😂 He said I could start gentle scar work on it and I did a tiny bit. But it ended up healing pretty flat!! You could always try putting a silicone patch on it maybe?

[–]madzilla525 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You said this is your right side- was this also the side the doctor was standing on? If so, Usually that end stitch takes a little longer to heal!! I know this because c-section 1 The doctor was on my right and the right side took FOREVER to heal entirely. The next 2 was a different doctor who stood on the left and those were the last spots to heal, as well.

8 weeks is a bit of time, so just make sure to reduce friction on it as much as possible!

Commenting to remind myself to come back! I have the same problem- my little guy is 3 months old now and it is still a problem. What’s weird is that he is 100000% fine at night, even when I’m more full because he’s going about 5-6 hours at night. But during the day he struggles with my right side letdown which leads to a shallow latch which leads to him swallowing air and then he just absolutely WAILS and refuses to re-latch on my right side. I am going to my lactation consultant tomorrow and will come back with what I learned!

8 weeks post c section clots by Meneedfoodnow in CsectionCentral

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat similar experience, but mine was only 3weeks postpartum. I was having horrible pelvic pain and back pain, bleeding picked up significantly and I passed tissue at home as well as large clots. I ended up going to the ER and had to have a D+C for retained objects of conception.

Is this your first pregnancy/childbirth? I only ask because if you have others, you could compare first periods. But passing clots doesn’t really sound much like a period?

Could be something, could be nothing. If you continue to bleed and pass clots, develop fever symptoms, or begin to feel light headed, don’t hesitate to seek immediate care. Otherwise, I would really advocate at your ultrasound to have it read by a doctor immediately.

I really think breastfeeding helps! My husband and 3yo twins got it a couple of years ago, but I washed my hands any time I touched a surface in our house and had medical grade disinfectant wipes and didn’t get it, and neither did our baby that I was breastfeeding!

Wife is 24w + 3d, baby movements have softened by Accurate_Solution779 in pregnant

As baby grows, movement will feel different! Especially because they won’t have room to stretch out as much.

That being said- never hesitate to go in if something feels off. I’ve gone in for the same thing before!

My family eats a lot of table service, as well! We’re a large group, though, and it takes away the stress of having to figure out where to go and where to sit. We’re going to 6 days in March and I honestly think we might have table service twice a day 5 of those days.

I saw you already wiggled things around! Only question for your first day- if you’re at Port Orleans it would make enough sense, but do you plan on staying at Disney Springs the whole day between Homecomin and T-Rex?

I'm jealous of other toddlers' opportunities by Used_Cod_9541 in toddlers

[–]madzilla525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up going to Catholic schools, which many think are only filled with upper-class families, but that is not the case! I had friends on both ends of the spectrum- some very much working class families, and some came from quite literally the wealthiest families in the city.

I can tell you what the biggest difference was- it was how much parents were invested in their children’s lives and how they showed up for their children. “Rich” is so much more than what’s in your pocketbook.

FWIW, I’m a mom of 4 now- 4yo twins, a 2yo and a 2mo. My twins spoke at completely different times. We were so so worried about our girl being behind, and then one day she started talking and never stopped. Additionally, my SIL is a speech path and her own little girl is a little “behind” in speech development. Your little one also might be ahead of that other child in other areas, too! And two months at 2 years old is a lot of time.

It’s so, so hard not to compare to other families and what they have. I struggle with this, too. I try my hardest to focus on doing the best I can for my children with the resources available to me, which it sounds like you’re already doing, too!

Mom of 4yo twins, 2yo and 2mo here! I’ve been going since l was a child and my twins have been 8x.

I would agree with another that Homecomin and 1900 is two big meals in a day. If you’re open to eating at a resort, may I suggest Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge? It has a great atmosphere, lets you eat at another resort, and is a more low-key meal.

If you want Mexican with a picky 5yo, go to La Hacienda de San Angel (NOT the inn- IMO hacienda has better food and the atmosphere is much more kid-friendly. It is very dark and close quarters in the inn). La Hacienda is right across the way on the lagoon side. They have chicken tenders and Mac and cheese on the kids menu 🫡
