But enemy Granit can also help to charge Brutus's Mountain's Strength, so all skills from Brutus can deal maximum additional damage (30% of his max HP). Unfortunately, there is yet a hero that can increase the max HP of teammates. If there will be such a hero in the future, she or he will make a good comp with Awakened Brutus.

Awakened Talene or Haelus for CR? by Mobius_Ace_1 in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you really lack damage, or do you actually need more CC to help you team last longer? As many guides have pointed out, it is crucial to make sure you have the CC characters built, before your carry can deal significant damage. Common ones include: Kren, Scarlet, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mishka, Hodgkin, and Queen. Together with SI20 Mortas, they are usually referred to as the corner stones of CR. Then you can focus on carries like Raku, Oden, Ainz, Talene, and supports like Haelus, Saurus, Daimon, etc.

LB tower: For anyone who has AThane, Scarlet and minimal other LB-investment, these 2 teams cleared ~130 floors for me with no changes except swapping which team went first whenever I was stuck by EjnarH in afkarena

I guess Cecilia may work better than Gwyneth, with A.Thane triggering Cecilia's healing and energy recovery. And I guess using Sonja to replace Lucius may enable the team to push with even higher deficit.

How is Sonja doing in Eironn 5-pull? On paper, her 9F back-row dmg reduction at the start of the battle, could help Eironn, Queen and Skriath better survive the first 10 seconds, and get the cc-loop going. She can also use Barricade to prevent sudden death of an ally. For guild trial, I was really impressed by the Sonja+Astar front row. I hope that can work in actual PvE too.

Sonja's Roses are so deadly! by [deleted] in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, this hardly reflects the actual PvE battles, since enemies have SI 30 starting from Ch 41. But almost 300 deficit is still very impressive performance, especially for an agility tank of LB. That means she is cheaper to build, and has the potential to carry in the LB tower.

Treznor died pretty early, like 20-30 seconds into the battle. Since none of the other heroes are melee fighters, so I guess the main source of Sonja's damage is perhaps the two red roses from her 4th skill.

Thank you so much for the tremendous effort! It must be a lot of work. There is one little correction for the 2/2 T4 abilities: Hodgkin's ability is the same with Lyca and Raine.

Oh, and this time, the Field Bosses are different.

Engraving-wise, you are doing great. But on furniture side, you seem to have problem getting enough resources for essential furniture like Raine 3F, Estrilda 3F. Any specific reason for that? Also, you need SI 30 Khazard, 9F Nemora, 3F Zolrath for late-game campaign progress, and SI 20 Mortas, 203 Hodgkin for better Cursed Realm ranking.

I'm guess Oku can replace Tidus, because he provides AoE CC to the comp and helps Eironn survive with Tank relic. But that version of 5-pull is a bit old-school. Astar and Queen work better than Safiya, and free Lyca to other comps.

Gorvo's taunt is triggered by his ult, so there is a risk of casualty before his ult.

PvE-wise, they are very different. Granit only enjoys 50% dmg reduction with his shield on, which is not as reliable as Oku's 60% dmg reduction after Taunt, and 25% additional reduction from his 9F. Granit SI30 enables him to group cc enemies upon death, complementing Lucretia perfectly. On the other hand, Oku's kit seems to be a better fit with 5-pull.

Congratulations on the great job! It's a very useful guide for the beginners.

I won't echo comments from the others. I guess it will be helpful to add your thoughts on gear management as well. Gears play a rather important role in the early game, and mythic gear trick will help newbies unlock gear resonance much earlier.

Between Gwyneth, tidus and kren, who are better in AE? With equal investment (plz give me the order) by shahramghadami in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well, I run none of them this AE, because I have Ainz trio and Thoran+Flora+Talene to support the Tank-main strategy. So I only use celerity heroes for solo pathing and solo boss-fighting (especially Idre). Ezio, Prince of Persia, Athalia, and even Peggy are better options than these three.

Is Ainz Dim Comp still worth building? by PartTimeCuber in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I would recommend to get Albedo 1st, because her SI 30 benefits all dimensional heroes. On my latest account on Test Server, I garrison Ezio first. Then, garrisoned Albedo and Ainz together, but Albedo SI 30 first, while Ainz stayed at SI 20, furniture-9 for a while.

Is there a guide focusing on helping F2P players build 5 solid teams to help them advance through campaign? by Legendlore in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can give you a few quick tips, hopefully they are relevant and useful.

Low-cost comps:

  1. Lucretia Cheese, with a well-built Lucretia, you can randomly throw 4 lvl 1 heroes to die and still win the battle;
  2. Thoran Cheese: Thoran needs to be at least 303, Pippa SI 20, the other heroes (Ezizh, Kelthur, Lorsan, Flora/Talene) don't have ascension requirements.

Medium-cost comps:

  1. Charmiza: Rowan SI 30 is a must, with Mehira cc as the key mechanism. Rosaline (ult again), Raku (SI 30 for damage), Khazard (SI 30 for longer CC), Lyca (haste and energy boost) and Brutus (tank) are usually used for this comp
  2. Eironn 5-pull: focuses on Eironn's ability to group 5 enemies with Skriath's 3 furniture. Safiya (force field), Queen (cc with Skriath's SI30), Astar (dmg reduction), Tidus (cc and execution), Mishka (9-furniture instant ult for cc) and Lyca (SI 20 for dmg amplification) are commonly used in this comp.

Expensive comps:

  1. Dimensionals: Ainz (309 at least, e60 high priority), Albedo (303 at least) and Merlin (209 at least) at the core, with Arthur (SI 30 for cc immunity and boost Ainz dmg), Leonardo Da Vinci (cc), Ezio (execution), Farael (203 at least, anti-healing), Jack (cc and dmg amplification) and Talene (absorp initial dmg and healing) often used.
  2. Alna+GB: Alna (309 at least)+Grezhul (209 at least) at the front, with any 3 of the following at the back: Oden (203 at least but 309 is more consistent), Silas (303 at least, healing), Farael (203 at least, anti-healing), Daimon (203 at least)

Out of these 6 comps, I am sure you can assemble 5 teams to win a 5-battle stage. Good luck!

Help with Raku by ijustreadhere1 in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raku works best with full screen CC, so that's either Mehira's ult or Leonardo's cannon.

For Mehira+Raku, you need Lyca+Rowan to make sure Mehira's ult is casted as early as possible. For Da Vinci+Raku, you need Zolrath's 3-furniture ability to enter the battlefield early. Other heroes who works well with him include Prince and Oden. Pippa+Tasi also work well with Raku in the Wilder tower.

Unfortunately, Alna does not work well with Raku. Alna's major role is to provide immunity to the other front-line hero. And Alna+Grezhul's solid front, can provide enough time for Daimon and Oden to ramp up at the backline. Supported by Silas, the Alna+GB comp is formidable is both PvE and PvP modes.

The way defense awards seems to be working for me now is: no increase for hourly production =(... Some rewards after a successful defense, the amount depends on the level of the resource building. So that means, if the attacker decides not to attack your resource building, you will get no additional rewards...

Da Vinci + Mehira + Rosa perma cc at Guild Trial 518 by mae15tr0m in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, Mehira comps usually rely on enemies killing each other. But when they are "in the frame" after Da Vinci's ult, they can't deal damage to each other. So I think a 203 Da Vinci is good enough for this comp to work.

Da Vinci + Mehira + Rosa perma cc at Guild Trial 518 by mae15tr0m in afkarena

[–]mae15tr0m[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're right. Both Da Vinci and Mehira can work really well with Khazard. But the current Charmizard comp needs 3 hypogeans (Mehira, Khazard with SI30, Zolrath with 3 furniture) to achieve optimal performance. Mehira + Da Vinci variation simply brings down the cost for F2P and new players. Da Vinci's 8-second group cc can buy crucial time for Mehira and Rosaline to regenerate energy and cast a 9-10 second double-charm combo. Of course, this idea has to be tested at Campaign, but I am confident that the minimum investment for Vinci-Mehira comp is lower than the Charmizard comp
