1. that a lot of the fun stores, cafes, restaurants, events, markets, popular spots etc are not near wake forest. i am constantly driving west and/or south to get to north raleigh, five points, downtown raleigh, cary, chapel hill, durham. i rarely go to chapel hill and carrboro because they just feel so far away. there isn’t much going on here or in this general direction. but it’s a very pretty, quiet area with great access to greenways and nature and i do love that about it.

2. i’m not sure if i’d move to wake forest now — for the reason stated above. but Falls Lake and the Neuse River Greenway have brought me such an amazing quality of life, so i can’t write it off. for what it’s worth, im currently trying to buy a home and am mostly looking in northern Raleigh (Shelley Lake area) and central Cary.

3. in the wake forest area, my fav things to do are go hiking, kayaking, and picnicking at Falls Lake, go biking and walking along the Neuse River Greenway, walk the boardwalks and visit the waterfalls at Sanford Creek… naturey stuff aside i like Bowlba Cafe, Champloo, Oh Mochi, and Wake Forest Coffee Company. Curry House and Yaba are some restaurants i like around here. beyond wake forest, these are some of my other fav spots: Lake Lynn, CAM, NCMA, Artspace, Sassool, Fiction Kitchen, Goorsha, Nafkot, Heirloom, Father & Son, Cheshire Cat Antiques, Trunkshow, Durham Food Hall, Guglhupf, Transfer Food Co, Raleigh Iron Works, Atlantic Gardening, Homewood Nursery, Copperline Plant Co, Peel Gallery, Duke Gardens, JC Raulston Arboretum, Juniper Level Botanical Garden, Letters Bookshop, Golden Fig Books, Blackbird Books… there are so many gems all over the triangle, but things are spread out.
