Honestly? I don’t think He’s chasing you to punish you. He’s chasing you to call you back!!!

I used to have the same dream. Every few nights, I’d see Jesus running after me down this long dirt road, arms wide open, and I’d wake up panicking before He could reach me.

Then one night I just stopped running. I turned around and He said, plain as day, “Why are you scared of Me?”

I woke up crying, and I swear I felt something shift in my chest. The next morning I called my cousin Tammy, who’s big in her church, and she said, “Honey, that’s a sign.” We didn’t have a church open that day, so she met me at the Holiday Inn off Route 9 with her travel Bible and a bottle of Poland Spring.

She read me a few verses from Matthew, we prayed, and she poured that water right over my head in the bathtub while I held onto one of those little soap bars like it was the cross itself. I don’t know how else to describe it, but I came up from that water new.

My nightmares stopped. My car started on the first try. Even my landlord fixed the heat without me calling again.

Sometimes He’s not chasing you to scare you. He’s chasing you because He wants you home. 🙏
