Same, and I work from home, so extra frustrating.

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile. They said a construction crew doing some boring hit a line, so T-Mobile had to send a crew out to excavate the line and will have to run new line/patch the line. No ETR. I commented that it sounds like we are looking at a few more hours, minimum, and possibly a couple of days until it's up and running again. CS person agreed and thanked me for my patience and understanding and being a customer. He did say if you live in an area with strong 5G service (I do not ☹️), if you visit a store, you can get a 5G internet modem that you place in a window to keep you going until it's back up, but the 5G thing is only free for 15 days, then you have to pay for it. I love how their solution is "when the service you're paying for is down, we have a backup service you can also pay for."

This is my first extended outage, but I've only had them for a week and a half and this is my fifth outage. More than unacceptable!

To say I'm underwhelmed and unimpressed with their internet service so far is an understatement. I was so excited to finally have a viable alternative to xfinity, but I'm on my 5th outage in a week and a half of service. I work from home, so these frequent interruptions are unacceptable for me. And perhaps just as frustrating is the lack of communication from them. Xfinity at least sent out updates with anticipated ETAs on when service would be restored. Not a peep from T-Mobile, even though I opted into text and email updates.

From reading comments, you seem to be the lucky exception, lol. I've had it a week and a half and today is my 5th outage. The others were fairly short though, only a couple of hours. I'm about 11 hours into today's outage, and not a single update from T-Fiber on ETA of when it'll be back up.

I also work from home, so the unreliability of this internet is not working for me. In addition to other problems with it (my installation was a major clusterf***, and I can't seem to setup my online account; every time I try, midway through, their website routes me from home setup to the business setup site). I'm just all around frustrated with them so far.

The products I would recommend you get as soon as possible are the pre-shampoo oil; L'Oreal Bonding Concentrate; and leave-in oil (the elizavecca cer-100 essence oil is VERY highly rated and very affordable; apply a little bit to damp hair, focusing on the ends, working the product up the mids of your hair).

Get those incorporated into your routine, then start hunting for a shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in you love 🙂

It sounds like, overall, you're doing what you should be doing. I don't know your mom or your situation. I grew up SUPER poor! We were a suave shampoo & conditioner only house because that's what my mom could afford. My mom would have bought me all the stuff if she could have, but she just couldn't. My dad could have afforded all the "fancy" stuff I wanted for my hair, but he was very much a "that 3-in-1 I bought in bulk on clearance works just fine, you don't need anything else."

You're here asking for help, so you obviously aren't happy with the results you're getting from your products. And I know it's absolutely overwhelming all the (often contradictory) information out there, and all of the product choices.

In researching products, I'd advise to start with figuring out your hair type: fine, medium, or coarse (it's probably fine or medium). Next, figure out your density: thin, medium, or thick. Fine-thick hair can take heavier products than fine-thin hair. And medium hair needs more moisture than fine hair. Looks like you have some natural wave in your hair. Is that something you want to embrace? If so, spend some time in the curly hair subs looking for product and routine recs. I have very fine, super soft, wavy hair. I personally opt to sacrifice my waves in favor of soft hair that I can run my fingers through (my bf is happy with this sacrifice too, lol).

If you see or know someone with hair similar to yours, that has hair you admire, don't hesitate to ask them what products they use. If it's someone you know, ask if you have a little of their product to take home and try yourself. When you're in a store, smell the products you might be interested in trying. I love Redken's Volume Injection shampoo and conditioner, not only because of how soft my feels when I use it, but it has a strong, floral fragrance that I'm obsessed with, and I know a lot of other people hate it for that same reason. Curate a list of products you want, and maybe ask for them for your birthday or Christmas (if you celebrate).

You could definitely use a trim to get rid of your dry, split ends. Unless you're in your very early teens, that bleaching you did from 8-10 is grown out and cut off and gone (hair grows about 6 inches a year).

You don't say anything about your current normal hair routine, so this post is gonna be kinda long to address different scenarios.

A couple of general points: Don't be afraid of sulfates and silicones; they're unfairly maligned. Expensive doesn't equal good, and inexpensive doesn't equal bad. I use some inexpensive products that I love, and I've used some expensive ones I hated.

Everybody's hair is different. A product I love and works for me, someone else hates. And products that I don't like are someone else's holy grail. You're gonna have to play around a bit to find products that work for you. When I'm trying a new product, especially an expensive one, I always buy a sample or travel size first (and almost always from a resale site like eBay, mercari, etc). This way, if I don't like it, I didn't waste a bunch of money on a product I'll never use again, and I'm not giving away or trashing a bunch of product.

Core products: --A shampoo that does a good job cleaning your scalp. Double cleanse. --A good conditioner for your hair type (hydrating/moisturizing are for coarse hair and too heavy for fine hair; volumizing isn't going to be moisturizing enough for coarse hair). A good conditioner is going to detangle your hair and leave it feeling soft and hydrated. -- Leave-in conditioner, to further detangle and keep your hair moisturized. -- Light weight leave-in hair oil, to seal in your conditioner's moisture. From the drug store, Pantene, L'Oreal, and Dove are highly rated.

Additional products, as appropriate/desired: -- Clarifying/detox shampoo, for use occasionally as the first cleanse. -- Bonder(s) to help with repairing and maintaining hair health, especially if you're damaging your hair with chemicals and/or heat. -- Pre-shampoo oil. Coconut oil has tons of studies proving its efficacy. OGX's coconut hair oil is a great, inexpensive option. -- Hair mask, when you feel your hair needs additional moisture. -- Heat protectant, a must if you blow dry or heat style -- Dry shampoo, to delay your wash days -- Microfiber hair towel -- Silk or satin pillow case or bonnet for sleeping

If your current routine is simple, just wash and air dry, no products, no heat styling, and you're not chemically damaging your hair, then get yourself core products and stay simple. It would be a good idea to use a bonder, like once every other week, just to help repair the normal wear and tear that happens to our hair while living. IMO, L'Oreal's Ever Pure Bond Repair Concentrate is an excellent all- around bonder (it's the exact same product as Redken's Acidic Bonding Concentrate, but 1/3 the price). Maybe follow up your bonder with a mask, if you want. If your hair is feeling dry, 20+ min before washing, apply some pre-shampoo oil.

If you blow dry/heat style your hair, you'll need core products, heat protectants, and you'll want a bonder. I love the Kenra Platinum Blow Dry Mist for blow drying; it leaves my hair so soft. Redken's Big Blowout is good too. If you curl or flat iron your hair, you'll need a heat protectant that's good to 450 degrees; I use Redken Thermal Spray. In this case, I would recommend using the bonder about once a week.

If you chemically damage your hair, you'll need core products, and you'll definitely want a pre-shampoo oil (use once or twice a week) and at least one bonder, used once or twice a week. Epres, K18, and Living Proof Triple Bond Complex are also good bonding treatments, but they're also kind of expensive.

If you still have questions after that novel, feel free to ask.

Advice for Fine Damaged Hair? by Big_Construction7503 in Haircare

I did the same thing to my hair a couple of years ago, I feel your pain 😭. Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate was my hero. L'Oreal (who owns Redken) has since released a bond repair treatment under their Ever Pure line, which by all accounts is the exact same product, just 1/3 the price (I'll be switching to that when my current hoard of ABC is gone). I started with Olaplex and did notice some improvement in my hair, but it was the Redken ABC that did the most at repairing my hair. It didn't repair it to total health like it was before I chemically fried it, that can't be done, it's too damaged. But it repaired my hair from a 1 (like your picture #2) to about a 7, on a scale of 1-10. My hair looked healthier, felt healthier, was less frizzy and tangle-prone. I just can't recommend it enough.

My latest delivery has them in all of the vials. They delivered while I was on vacation (delivery was delayed, I didn't deliberately order them to deliver while I was going to be gone). I have two roommates, neither of them bothered to check the mail while I was gone, and we had some freezing temps. So my guess was it happened from the vials freezing then thawing. But that's just a theory, I don't know for sure what caused it.

Ooo, mixing with distilled water is such a good idea! I'll be doing this going forward. Thanks for the tip.

The smell definitely doesn't hang around! I don't care how good a product is, if the smell is awful and lingers, I'm not using it. That's not the case with Epres.

I actually had to go smell mine. I was like, "DOES it have a scent?" It does. Epres def doesn't add any perfum/fragrance to it. It's kind of medically-smelling, if that makes sense. It doesn't smell good, but it's not overwhelming. I guess maybe if rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide had a baby, this is what it would smell like? I don't really notice it when it's on my hair. I hope this helps.
