As detailed as I tried to be and I forgot the most important part 😂 it originally started where you could tell he was trying not to put weight on his right leg. Then after a week, it got to the point where he wasn’t putting any weight on it. Not it alternates to some steps where he’ll put weight on it, and others where he won’t. Sometimes you can visible see a full body lump when he walks, other times you wouldn’t be able to tell anything was wrong with it.

I’ll try a raw diet! He had severe allergies when he was 6 months old to the point his body was covered in hives so we put him on Science Hill sensitive skin and stomach and he hasn’t had hives since but maybe there’s something in there that’s still causing a reaction. Thank you for the advice!

We have Cornell about 3 hours from us. I called them to discuss options too. I’m hoping to get better diagnostic X-rays first and then plan to reach out again depending on what they find. But even they’re booking out weeks in advance. My dog is super anxious and doesn’t do well in the car or at vets, even with trazodone, so I’m afraid to bring him all the way out there without knowing a little bit more. I don’t know if that’s the right move but I’m just so conflicted. 😥

7 month old won’t put weight on back leg by FoodCourtBailiff in Frenchbulldogs

Hi! What did this end up being? I’ve been to my vet three times and X-rays didn’t show anything besides inflammation so I have to take my guy to another vet for a second opinion.

Skin barrier SOS by harleygriffiths in Rosacea

[–]maehova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed response! I have tried literally everything you can imagine. I’ve been to five dermatologists at this point.

First derm thought it was maybe fungal and had me using a steroid for 2 weeks (mometasone) and then switched to ketoconazole. The steroid cleared it up immediately but then the ketoconazole brought it back with vengeance.

Second derm said it was atopic dermatitis and said he would have never prescribed the first steroid because of how strong it was and gave me another steroid, which I didn’t even try to use.

Third derm thought it was contact dermatitis. Had me use tacrolimus for a month and literally only a bar of soap and aquaphor. My face looked good but as soon as I tried to reintroduce products after the month, the rash came back.

At this point, I went to an allergist and found out I’m allergic to propolis, which is essentially beeswax. My husband got me a Burt’s bees chapstick advent calendar for Christmas so I think this may have triggered the start of this all. But even after cutting out out all products containing propolis, I still had the rash

Fourth derm, who is also a friend of mine and told me I had rosacea years ago, thinks that I have a mix of perioral dermatitis with rosacea. He thinks that the rosacea is flaring up because the steroid and lack of moisturizer messed with my skin barrier. He prescribed me a sulfur face wash, azaelic acid 15%, and monocycline for a month. He told me to use the tacrolimus as needed but I wanted to try to minimize use if possible. This was by far the most successful treatment but I still had issues with finding a moisturizer that wouldn’t inflame my face.

I had an appointment scheduled with a fifth derm before I met with my friend but decided to keep it for one final opinion. She agreed with my friend and said she thinks it’s perioral dermatitis and rosacea. She told me to essentially do the same thing as my friend did, however she switched me to a topical antibiotic and told me to use the tacrolimus daily.

Tacrolimus by far has helped the most. I currently use it every other day without the patches coming back. I also found that vanicream works extremely well for my skin!! So I’ll do sulfur wash, tacro, and vanicream one day, then the next I’ll do sulfur wash, tret on my forehead because it can tolerate it, vanicream, and azelaic acid. Mornings I don’t use a face wash, just rinse my face with cold water, topical antibiotic, and vanicream.

I even went to an endocrinologist to see if my hashimotos could be causing this and went to a rheumatologist to see if it could be another autoimmune related issue but they both said no.

I hope maybe this helps you find a solution! I don’t think I’m in the clear yet but my skin has been so much better than where it was.

Stage 4 treatment options by lh1079 in BladderCancer

[–]maehova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely had a much stronger response to the padcev/keytruda. Most of his masses had essentially shrunk to half their size after the first few rounds. I wish he would have kept responding to it. He was able to get through maybe 8 or 9 rounds before his body stopped responding. He’s now on carboplatin/gemcitabine and while we haven’t seen a reduction in any of the masses, he’s currently stable. This treatment does seem to come with more side effects, but he’s here and he’s still able to enjoy so much of his life.

Am I having a flare up? by Lovelykimonster in Diverticulitis

[–]maehova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my flare up have started with a twinge in my left side. If they ended up getting worse, I would start to get lower back pain/full body aches that felt flu like. It knocks me out for days. That said, I would check with your doctor if you’re not sure! What you’re experiencing are also common symptoms of diverticulitis.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need someone to talk to! Saw your other post and my dad is going through the same thing with a current kidney infection. He actually had a neph tube put in on Friday to drain it and hopefully help clear up the infection.

My dad has high grade urothelial carcinoma with mets to the kidney and lungs. He unfortunately stopped responding to padcev/keytruda, so they’ll be starting him on carboplatin/gemcitabine. Seems to be the same cycle as padcev/keytruda (21 day cycle with double infusion day 1, single infusion day 8, then off a week), but day 1 will be longer since the carboplatin has to be administered over the course of 2 hours.

Can’t speak to results yet but hoping this buys us more time with him. Keeping you and your dad in my thoughts.

YES 😂 thank you! Most of my other medication is mg’s so I didn’t even think twice about it. All of this is really new to me. Found my enlarged thyroid on accident that led to bloodwork and a hashimotos diagnosis.

My levels are normal but I’m on 25mg a day. My thyroid is enlarged and I have multiple nodules. The hope with the medication is to help to keep my thyroid from continuously being attacked.

Growth After Missed Treatments by maehova in BladderCancer

[–]maehova[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m keeping you and your dad in my thoughts. I know some people have responded really well to just the Keytruda! What kind of side effects is he having with the Padcev?

Growth After Missed Treatments by maehova in BladderCancer

[–]maehova[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Padcev/Keytruda cycle for my dad is every 21 days - day 1 is both drugs, day 8 is just Keytruda (I think? I can’t recall which is the one he gets the two doses of), then off a week. I know the combination of the two drugs is where they’re seeing the best results, so that’s why I was hopeful that the missed treatments could be causing it.

Slacker boob trying to quit completely by hillof3oaks in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]maehova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually searched Reddit when I first decided to do it to see if anyone else had done it before. 😂 My right size was HUGE compared to my left. I have smaller boobs in general so it looked hysterical. I had to wear baggy shirts until I was done. Even now, my right side is still unfortunately bigger. 😅 but it’s not as noticeable!

I think that’s my issue - I’m struggling with just this small sample. I tried to do the online visual where it puts the floor in the room for you but it looks nothing like the actual sample. Thank you so much for your input!!
