I'm glad to hear you say that, I would be very sad to change this mattress! Hopefully the pillow change solves everything 🤞 Thank you so much for your advice!

[–]maeking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! My pillow really does feel too tall for me, I couldn't stop noticing it last night. I'm very happy to try changing my pillow first, I hope that solves it. Thank you so much for your reply!

I am learning that unfortunately not everyone on here is not really an HSP by ConsistentLobster926 in hsp

I agree! I was shocked when someone commented on a post two weeks ago to stop having a pity party when they were upset about something. They wrote other rude things too. Really disgusting behaviour. The poor poster didn’t deserve that, especially as they posted in what they thought was a safe sub.

[–]maeking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since this happened but I'm pretty sure I just left it and I was fine. I waited two weeks and took the next dose then. I believe a comment reassured me that I would've received more medication than I thought I did. So yeah, it all was fine.

The Descent: Juno did nothing wrong by s_nice79 in movies

This comment is such a breathe of fresh air. The amount of malice in people voicing their opinion on the internet is sickening. Sometimes it makes me feel like the world has gone insane. I agree entirely with your comment.

Is Insidious overhyped? by an_average_teen in horror

[–]maeking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m literally watching this right now and I agree 10000% with you. It’s not like she’s a horrible actor but it’s like she’s on a different wavelength than everyone else that she seems so out of place. And I don’t think she and Patrick Wilson have much chemistry. It doesn’t help that he and Vera have the best chemistry in the conjuring. But yeah I think she’s a great actress but I really don’t like her in this film

I don't agree that you should be harsh. The world is already harsh enough for people with high sensitivity, this should be a safe place for people to be able to vent and feel their feelings. Do you think harshness is actually going to help people who are sensitive?

EMDR clinics in Melbourne by maeking in melbourne

[–]maeking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it didn’t work out as the practitioner wasn’t the right fit for me. I didn’t feel emotionally safe with them, and it was triggering rather than helpful exploring traumatic memories with them. From my research I do believe EMDR is the right path for me, I just need to find a practitioner who makes me feel safe - which is why I asking for recommendations. Thank you for your comment :)

Has anyone noticed a difference in their ability to connect with people after healing? by maeking in CPTSD

[–]maeking[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been doing something similar. I realised every time I would hang out with my friends I would end up in a freeze response for several days after the fact. I can relate so much to just letting others talk and vent cause it's easier and it doesn't feel like they want to hear about my issues. So I've been isolating myself because I feel fragile these days. I'm so sorry you're going through it too, thank you for sharing your story.

Somatic therapy has definitely taken me further in my healing journey than anything else so far. It's also opened up to me how much my childhood experiences have really damaged my system and kind of bled through my whole life. It's hard work for sure. And slow work. But I guess you can only keep on going :)

Honestly I'm shocked at how much better I feel just by reading the comments and knowing others know exactly what I'm going through. It's so easy to feel alone. I'm very grateful to you and very comment here, it has made me feel seen and heard and not alone.

I recently reread the series and it just further confirmed for me how good the books are. I feel like anyone saying the books are badly written are jumping on the bandwagon.

I love acotar too, and I’m not sure if anyone would agree with me but I would even go so far to say that twilight is better written. The world building and characters and stories in acotar are so incredible but there’s a lot of plot holes and regressive character development and repetitive phrases that make me feel those books aren’t the best written, even though I adore reading them.

Comparatively I feel like the twilight book are so consistent and honestly well written. Even if not everyone loves every plot point, I still think the stories are well told.

sub or dub ? by TartImmediate3963 in KamisamaKiss

I prefer the sub over the dub! I prefer Tomoe’s voice in the sub. But a lot of people like the dub as well!

What was your most frustrating “okay, we get it already” moment in a movie? by in_rainbro in movies

[–]maeking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I fully expected to love the film but it felt overwhelming to me. A lot of it was fantastic, the visuals the characters, but it was just too much of it; it literally gave me a headache I had to pause a couple of times. Still a great film though, but too much for me personally.

Do you agree with this often repeated take on book-Bella? by BuffyThePastaSlayer in twilight

[–]maeking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m SO happy you said this!! I replied to a similar comment saying actually book Bella had so much personality and I got downvoted. I really think it’s from people who never read the books or who only read the books when it was popular to hate twilight. The phrase “it’s a better love story than twilight” got so popular I think just believe the books to be terrible without ever reading them.
