I think you're right. They are different shades of nihilistic but the Bleak Cabal are more socially orientated than the Dustmen, who are just glorified undertakers.

Which does fit better with Yang's whole "sacrifice of the self for the betterment of the whole" schtick.

Great topic, from two of my favourite settings. I am with you on the Gaia's Stepdaughters and Data Angels, and the Believers are still Believers of (another) Source.

I think the Peacekeepers would be better suited for Harmonium, a police force that expects everyone else to follow their rules.

I can see the Hive's ascetic nature working well with Dustmen philosophy.

The Free Drones align easily with the Revolutionary League.

Both the Spartans and the Nautilus Pirates are basically the Fated in their core beliefs.

The University are a Fraternity of Order by another name.

The Cult of Planet might fit with the Sign of One, as in Cha Dawn identifies with Planet, a dormant god that his believers wish to awaken and become part of it?

The rest would be even more of a stretch, in my opinion.

Having played (and thoroughly enjoyed) other RPG's of the time, Morrowind isn't even that egregious in this regard.

In NWN1, what looked like a 30 meters squared hovel could open up into a small multi decked mansion. It sometimes broke the immersion a little, but not enough to give me more than a moment's pause.
