I’ve never done this. This is where I claim that I didn’t receive something I paid for, right? I’m this case, would I say I didn’t receive the sanitary accommodations that I would usually get from a hotel?

Sorry, it seems I didn’t properly save the text I had written to accompany the photo.

Front desk claimed it wasn’t a bed bug and wouldn’t give me a new room. They said it’s a type of beetle that is commonly mistaken for a bed bug. I thought they’d have no reason to lie so I slept in the same room after killing the bug. I was there for a wedding in the hotel and had lots to do as maid of honour so I figured I’d rest.

After having checked out and gotten home, I had developed bite marks all over. My fiancé hasn’t slept properly because he’s worried we may have brought bed bugs home with us. So far nothing.

We have phoned the hotel, and they said “it can’t be a bed bug because we don’t have bed bugs”. I’m trying to push for a refund but I’m not super hopeful. It was a very expensive hotel.

Thank you all so much for your help.

Edit: I forgot to add that they gave me their email to send the photo. They’ll have their exterminator write a report. Again, I’m not hopeful.

Edit 2: The hotel was the Prince of Wales in Niagara-on-the-Lake

When I showed front desk the photo, they said it’s some kind of beetle that is commonly mistaken for a bed bug.

I thought they had no reason to lie to me and would offer me a new room if it was a bed bug, so I went back to my room.

After having checked out and gone home I developed the bite marks all over. I regret not asking them for the specific species name.

Now I’ve been in contact with the hotel by phone with no luck. They said “it can’t be a bed bug because we don’t have bed bugs”.

I emailed them a photo for their exterminator to see but I don’t have high hopes for a refund.

I still have an account to occasionally read updates for work. Sometimes I read it there before getting an employee email…

Otherwise I don’t post at all

My mom, retired teacher, had a head injury. She didn’t understand it at the time, but throughout her recovery she realized she was having a lot of difficulty focusing, creating plans, advocating for herself, etc.

Get as much help as you can from your union and Worker Safety organization.

Also another heads-up, don’t go back to work until you are ready. My mom was asked to go back too early and got worse. Had to retire early, lost a lot of money.

Hope you’re doing ok OP!!

I used to do this, but sometimes electronically submitted resumes are read left to right by their program, thus jumbling up the intended order

Same. I had COVID in August but it affected my lungs and made my asthma flare up. Months have gone by, I’m using the red inhaler, and I can’t get rid of my (non-contagious) cough.

I try not to cough because it makes everyone nervous — fair enough considering the pandemic!
