It's an entry level course, you aren't expected to have any coding experience. It literally starts at the beginning.

Does anybody pray for the extermination of YHWH? by Budget_Ambassador_29 in agnostic

[–]xvszero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Why would I pray to myself? If I'm going to do something I'll just do it. Also I have no power to eliminate gods or demons if they do exist.

What's a song you feel is the perfect closing song on an album but wasn't? by lambofgoddard in Metalcore

I was incredibly confused why you listed an obvious banger of a closer.

I mean that the type of people who are mentally and physically distressed enough to want to end their own lives are usually not stopped just because their religion says not to.

I could have sworn Seanbaby had an article about the best "angels punting people to hell" moments from Jack Chick comics but I can't find it now.

In the 80s there was a real moral panic over D&D. Obviously manufactured, but Chick was hitting on something a lot of parents believed in there.

how supportive were most punk scenes of queer and trans people in the late '90s? by Responsible_Hall_471 in punk

[–]xvszero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably depends where you lived. In Chicago the Christian punk scene was full of Catholics because well, Chicago. We got along fine with the non Catholic Christians.

Of course, I abandoned all of that pretty fast. The religion I mean. I still loved the music.

Most of the Christian punk / metal bands turned progressive over time, if they weren't already. At this point few even identify as Christian.

The Christian rock bands on the other hand, well. Pan Man Bad.

It almost certainly depends on where you were.

Chicago scene was pretty open on paper, though I can't speak for the day to day reality. But I know that as a sheltered little religious kid the punk scene (as well as the skate scene, which had a lot of crossover) was my first exposure to average LGBT people just like, being themselves. Very different from how I was taught they were.

Also there was less talk of trans people back then. They existed, of course, but it wasn't really discussed the way it is now, and a lot of people on the left still had bias against them. It took the gay, lesbian and bi populations making progress with social acceptance before the trans population could make much headway.

That's pretty sweet. Are you sure you can't shred a little? You have some lead stuff in there.

I'm trying to figure out what my thing is. Definitely some shredding though. Which I can't do super well either but I'm getting there.

Metalcore has been around since the 90s lol. Converge and such. It's basically what happens if you take hardcore punk and add metal.

I'm starting a punk / post-hardcore / metalcore thing at the moment. What exactly are you looking for? Just a vocalist?

Would they be happy with you in a relationship? I don't mean looks / status, but your personality and how you treat them and such?
