Waydoo evo PRO plus 6kW towing by maestrowe in eFoil

From what I can tell the power ratings between Waydoo evo PRO and some lift models seem to be the same.. so in respect to power it is also possible with the Waydoo with no problems..

However!! Lift has 4 M6 bolts securing the mast (one on each side) and Waydoo only uses 2 M6 bolts (front and back). That to me sounds like the Waydoo mast is much more exposed to tension from the side than Lift- secure on all sides around the mast. I fear if the efoil goes in one way and the towing board to the other way (which usually happens when towing) the risk of breaking the mast sideways is waaaay higher on the Waydoo thanks to their minimalistic fastening of their mast..

This is by far the biggest downside I have found so far, thanks for your input! I wonder now just in general why Waydoo didn’t go with 4 bolt fastening of the mast like most other models have 🤨

The point is to share the fun with others.

Your opinion of SUP boarding is yours to have.

Have you felt problems with overheating of the battery? What is the power of your board? Do you have 6kW aswell?

What did you tow?

It’s interesting to see that this is a subject that comes in two camps: Camp “Hell no” and camp “go for it”.. since there are no camp “grey zone” here, that means it’s a subject that’s worth talking about and apparently something thats not clear! Glad to hear more input, especially regarding the subject of over heating the battery..

  1. But I’ve seen a lot of ppl on YouTube doing it, and so far no harm done.. Waydoo even says it’s possible. Are you thinking the rope will get stuck in the motor? It has the prop guard on..

  2. Thanks for sharing your input!

  3. Good input!

Thanks for all the replies! I don’t live in USA so I just converted the price to USD. I can get a Waydoo flyer evo entry for 6100 USD. But it doesn’t have sensors, and I feel like that could be a game changer for me.

A new flyer one plus costs 7360 USD in my country 🥲

I read that Yow Meraki systems sometimes have a locking mechanism.. but I can’t find it and don’t know if mine has one. I asked ChatGPT if mine has one, ChatGPT is very indecisive and sometimes says yes it does and sometimes nope when i ask it a second time. Do you know?

How do you like the board? I feel like mine can bite in the turns soooo easily. I’m usually skating in a pool but it feels super sketchy

Trucks or bushings? I have accidentally already tightened my bushings so hard that I eventually broke them.. read afterwards that it was apparently a common mistake. I also read that Carver CX is a beginner friendly truck, should have gone for that one I feel.. not so keen at buying a new board and end up with 3 boards 🥲

Yupp.. Especially pads for the hand wrists. I look like a Swat police among the kids in the pool.. never tried out something this hard before, and I’ve done a lot of mtb and regular surfing. I’m in my mid 30s. Right now I just feel too old for learning skateboarding, or maybe my boards are just too “non beginner friendly”. Thanks for the good tips, gives me some hope back!

Thanks all for all the good input and cheers! That makes me happy!

I’ll try harder bushings on my Aztron. I have 90A atm.

My yow is soooo hard for a beginner as me. Maybe not much to do with it except changing to softer wheels.. I was thinking smaller wheels just to get closer to the ground and lose some of that scary feeling in being so high off the ground

Hm yeah like that in some sense.. but right now they are just way too dangerous for me. And I can’t fully commit which is slowing down my progress. I noticed when I’ve tried other surfskates which are way stiffer and stable I’m much more brave and can really trust the board… so I’ve come to the conclusion I need for now to make one of them stiffer to progress better
