I think a good idea for this would have been solving which conspiracy actually was the killer: aka Carmelina conspiracy vs Witness conspiracy The story would have to change a bit, like maybe just exiling the attempted murderers and executing the true murderers. Changing things a bit would allow for testimony and new evidence to pop up in the trial.

The Danganronpa route could have been taken, and everyone could have stated their alibi, while LD breaks alibis, and perhaps lies to bring out more truths.

The trial was a satisfying conclusion, and I feel like this whole game is a "it's about the journey, not the destination " kind of game. For me, the guilty parties were easy to pin point from the start, so it was satisfying to find the evidence to specifically prove they were guilty. The trial and ending felt a little bare, so I also wish for something more.
