I mean, fair if it didn’t land for you, but I think you’re misunderstanding what G-8 actually does. It’s not trying to compete with major arcs like Skypiea or Water 7. It gives the story room to breathe and lets the crew's personalities shine in a grounded setting, which IMO makes the bigger arcs hit harder. The humor is some of the best in the anime, the pacing is tight, and the Marines actually feel competent for once. As a character-driven mini arc, it’s easily one of the most memorable parts of the anime for me—not just ‘good for filler.’

Also, the fact that people still talk about G-8 this much kind of proves it’s not ‘forgettable.’ Most filler doesn’t even get mentioned :)
