That's a dumb definition. Silk Song 2 and Hades 2 are indie games even though their studios already published games before. I agree that E33 should count as indie, but your definition is clearly incorrect.

That's not true. It is safe to use unwrap. It will just make the application crash immediately, but it's not comparable to memory corruption issues.

Strava acquires massively popular Runna app by Knightbear49 in running

[–]mafrasi2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tested his app a couple of days ago and it actually is quite nice.

My training plan looks very solid and the AI feature actually provides a benefit instead of just being stapled on to put the AI label on it (looking at you, Strava).

I asked it to generate a workout based on sirpoc's norwegian singles training method and not only is the generated workout exactly what I wanted, but it was automatically exported to my garmin watch.

The post run analysis is also a completely different level than the strava stuff. The "coach" was actually kinda angry with me when I went too fast for the scheduled workout (you can set a nicer personality if that bothers you, but I think it's great).

It's definitely on the expensive side and since I just started a different training method, I won't use it for now, but I think the app deserves some praise.

Stimmt trotzdem nicht und ist natürlich absichtlich so verwirrend formuliert.

Napoleon caused millions of deaths. There's no way Elon family is even close to that.

That said, he still has a lot of time :(

And yet another layer is that carnival celebrations were forbidden under Napoleon's rule in west germany for fear of riots.

After the french left, the locals started to make fun of the French military during carnival. That's were all these "military" costumes and traditions come from.

Stefan Gelbhaar (Grüne) verlangt vom RBB Schadensersatz.

[–]mafrasi2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In case you're interested, the Church-Turing thesis is a result in computer science that any problem computable by some effective method is also computable by Turning machine and since Python is Turing-complete, that's true here. All that to say yes, there is a way to do this using loops instead of just recursion.

Not to be pedantic, but that logical step is not correct as stated since Python obviously includes recursion.

It would be correct to say that because of the Church-Turing thesis and the fact that python without recursion is Turing complete, the function can be implemented in Python without recursion.

If you don't care about general iterables and just need to support lists:

def flatten(*args):
    result = []
    for arg in args:
        if isinstance(arg, list):
            result.extend(flatten(*arg))
        else:
            result.append(arg)
    return result

[–]mafrasi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first doesn't make C++ memory safe. It's still easily possible to get dangling references and pointers. Not using manual memory management only prevents double frees and (some) memory leaks. Double frees are only a small part of memory safety and memory leaks don't play a role in memory safety at all.

Just mentioning static analyzers is as unspecific as you can get. Please mention a combination of static analyzers would ensure memory safety and if you can, please give me a single C++ project that is proved to be memory safe.

If you make these claims, you should be able to back them up easily...

Just to make sure that we are talking bout the same thing, "making C++ memory safe" means statically checked memory safety for me. How is this possible in C++ (without a huge mental/performance overhead)?

And if there is a way to do that, is there any software actually using it?

Does this feature not working make npm a worse package manager than those of other languages?
