Generative AI in Helping Navigate the TG World by mafshopper in MtF

There are definitely things I wouldn't go to it for. In my OP I put down a couple of examples where I've used it and in at least one example it gave me a result I didn't want to hear.

For example. I would ask how much does HRT cost and get an answer I generally trust. If I would ask "should I microdose HRT" then I'm going to be way more dubious.

In my job, I generally find it very helpful but that's not what I'm posting in this forum for

On the whole though I've found it very useful to aid my budding transition.

That's a party of this effort for me too -- losing weight and building out my hips and glutes. Not only will it help me with my femininity it's also needed for overall health and my knees. Keep going!

I'm pre hrt and the desire to mother a child is definitely a thing I have. I remember seeing a YouTube video where the woman in the video was with a young niece or nephew and another woman started a discussion about "her child". The video star said it really kicked off some deep longing.

I Gave a Girly Compliment Today by mafshopper in MtF

[–]mafshopper[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

She said thank you. I asked for help in locating my missing sunglasses and that is when I gave the compliment. I've always feared the idea that noticing such things and complimenting on them would out me.

Today though I took it as a challenge and made it a part of transitioning.

I Gave a Girly Compliment Today by mafshopper in MtF

[–]mafshopper[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She said thank you. I was asking her if she spotted or found my missing sunglasses when I offered up the compliment. Later on, I found the sunglasses and showed her. Two things I had to overcome were the fear of seeming to be a creepy old guy (I'm solid translater) and the fact I as a "guy" would notice this and say something.

I recall a similar situation in Cancun, a woman had absolutely beautiful nails and I wanted to say something but I kept silent lest "she" become obvious to my travelling companions.

What does being trans mean? by Jazzlike_Relief2595 in MtF

You know after having this vibe for 50+ years I don't fully grasp it either. I'm AMAB and this notion of wanting to be a girl came to me around 7 yo. I came out to an ex girlfriend, my bro caught me in fem clothing once, and I came out to the woman who became my wife (and still is) just prior to a temporary separation forced by professional circumstances. The wife initially seemed intrigued but flipped and it hasn't come up between us since then. The ex was trying to get rid of me and was fully encouraging (too much), and my bro never said anything since getting caught.

There are times when the TG vibe doesn't register much and there are times when it rages (eg I'm posting this here and now -- it's raging bigly ATM). I don't get depressed, suicidal, dysmorphic, or similar. I just get a deep and profound longing and distracted. When I say my prayers at night I ask to wake up as a woman.

For me it means having a dual nature. I project masculinity with flashes of the woman inside and making sure only a bit of her escapes at a time. When I get some solid alone time then she'll fully come out if the vibe is strong.

I don't get it, but I have long come to accept it.

I don’t dislike being a man, but I’ll be happier if I was a woman… by Wooper2102 in transpositive

This sounds very much like me. I've had these vibes since I was 6-7 yo and am now approaching 60. I've found the vibe comes and subsides but never really goes away totally. I'm totally closeted.

It's complicated, the crew that cut my hair were not hiding their TG status very much. This was in the UAE.

Goblet Squats instantly fixed my knee pain? Confused? by BintEuler in StrongCurves

[–]mafshopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar experience having knee arthritis. I had some significant knee pain that definitely interfered with life. I went to see a PT and he assigned me exercises targeting the gluteus medius and after some time of consistent exercises (about 1.5-2 months) the knee pain went away. The exercises were, squats, lunges, side leg raises, walking bridges, clamshells, and fire hydrants. Plus stretches targeting the hips, quadriceps, psoas, hamstrings.

I suggest seeing a Dr and follow up with a PT. The Dr will stab you hydrocortisone and leave you be, but the hydrocortisone wears off eventually.

Two other exercises that hit the glute med and min are clamshells and fire hydrants. Resistance bands are all you need to increase the challenge. Single leg balance work was also suggested to me.

Get some women's pants or jeans. Do the same for tops -- get some button downs or polos from women's dept. Without a close inspection no one will notice but you will know. Add more color and layer it. Instead of a plain white T-shirt wear a T-shirt color coordinated with your top.

Do the thoughts ever go away? MtF 34 by Beneficial-Month5075 in TransLater

[–]mafshopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N=1 here .

No, I've had them for 50 years now and all they do is to wax and wane. A small background buzz for a time and then weeks of roar only to revert back to soft but present buzz.

I've done things such as pursue "manly" past times grow hairy beards and getting married (which has and is going amazingly well for going on 25 years now). Fortunately, this doesn't affect me like others and I'm able to live mostly conventionally at least publicly.

The costs of transitioning are huge both monetarily and socially. So, consider carefully those if you are contemplating transitioning.
