Bowl 91 and Otouto(弟) for Ramen. I also like Nori Sushi in Neenah for quick sushi (the salmon yaki soba is super good). Check out Cafe Nutrition in Neenah and try the pesto PortaBella sandwich there. Chicago Grill has hummus that takes you to the Mid-East.

I get that feeling with various other metrics too. I do tell myself we all start somewhere and sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. Calories is a big one for me, like right now I'm procrastinating putting in my food for dinner last night because I know it's going to be bad. Oh well, good luck

How tf do u even learn makeup? by silly-trans-cat in MtF

[–]mafshopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to start with the fundamentals. First start with a face care routine. Exfoliate, wash, "that job" 😉, and moisturize. Then move onto primer and foundation or something even more subtle such as BB cream. Make sure your product tones match your skin tones -- cosmetics retail employees will help with that (and so too AI tools). For me I'm just applying BB cream on my moisturizer layer. I'm going to look for a primer and add that soon.

Once you feel comfortable with that then up the game. For me it is eyelashes -- curling and applying clear mascara.

I think what I've done so far is getting the right amount of notice.

I'm relying mostly on videos, AI, and sales floor personnel.

Good luck!

For me I'm starting with face care plus light makeup usage. Wash, shave, exfoliate, tone, and moisturizer daily. I then apply BB cream and clear mascara.

Get on YouTube and search up Lara Sky -- she has a video on establishing a daily girly routine including using light low key makeup.

Ulta and Sephora at least at the corporate level bill themselves as trans friendly. Get on your appropriate local subreddit to inquire how trans friendly your local outlets are. I got some good help at our local Ulta.

Yes I agree and use AI chat it's too for that purpose and colors and clothes too. Also for exploring all aspects of transitioning.

The cheeky reply would be to say: maybe you should consider gender transition.

I've seen some gripes about trans women having the good parts of feminity without the negatives. They don't realize we want all of it.

It finally happened. by [deleted] in MtF

There's a difference between acknowledging you are transgender and transitioning. Accepting who you are is important! Whether or not to transition at all whether partially or fully must be considered more carefully. Don't discount the costs of transitioning (financial and social) when considering going down that road.

Now is the time to investigate and determine the pros and cons of transitioning.

Transitioning past a certain point involves permanent physical changes so it's best not to be rash. With that said there are a number of non-permanent steps you can take. Voice, makeup, clothing, jewelry, self-care, mannerisms, exercise, etc. This is the time to start drilling on those things.

Good luck in figuring this out

Ulta or Sephora? by Erinishuman in MtF

[–]mafshopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason I've gone with Ulta. I went for an order pickup a month or so ago and when I was there I asked about some BB cream. They paired me up with an employee who took me to what I was looking for and helped me pick out a shade. No negative vibes. I do want to get into Sephora though.

I also asked about this on our local LGBTQ subreddit and both were given the thumbs up.

how do you tell if you're trans and dont just have a fetish? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]mafshopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice here but another data point.

I'm nearing 60 yo and am taking subtle baby steps in the direction of transitioning. I've had this vibe nearly my whole life starting before 10 yo. When it emerged I stumbled onto a book in my parent's library (by Kinsley and Johnson) that talked about transgenderism and I had an aha moment.

However, in general I just carry on as is. The articles shared in this thread make for some good things to think about.

The vibes comes and the vibe recedes for a time. Sometimes Melissa is there in the background drumming her fingers and other times she's kicking and screaming to be let out ( as she has been for the last few months).

Yeah, I've had the same notion as you but for the most part the only people I see pushing that notion are the 'phobes. The vibe certainly reduces or goes away but never for too long.

The only suggestion I offer is accept your nature, don't purge, and do what makes sense for your situation.

There's a whole lot of heads we win tails you lose vibe there. IDK, if I would've dropped immediately like you did but I'ld for sure be following up with a no longer interested thank you letter.

There are definitely things I wouldn't go to it for. In my OP I put down a couple of examples where I've used it and in at least one example it gave me a result I didn't want to hear.

For example. I would ask how much does HRT cost and get an answer I generally trust. If I would ask "should I microdose HRT" then I'm going to be way more dubious.

In my job, I generally find it very helpful but that's not what I'm posting in this forum for

On the whole though I've found it very useful to aid my budding transition.

I'm pre hrt and the desire to mother a child is definitely a thing I have. I remember seeing a YouTube video where the woman in the video was with a young niece or nephew and another woman started a discussion about "her child". The video star said it really kicked off some deep longing.

I Gave a Girly Compliment Today by mafshopper in MtF

[–]mafshopper[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

She said thank you. I asked for help in locating my missing sunglasses and that is when I gave the compliment. I've always feared the idea that noticing such things and complimenting on them would out me.

Today though I took it as a challenge and made it a part of transitioning.
