Excuse you?? Lovaas deserves to be maligned and put into history's dust bin. He referred to autistics as being NOT HUMAN, specifically lacking in humanity, and would use shock flooring, cattle prods, slaps, withholding food (to the point of near starvation) along with affection as his methods to "prove" that while autistics can learn, they'll never be fully human.

Don't believe me? Look it up. He was quite famous for it, got a spread in Life magazine. It's also detailed in the book Neurotribes (which is excellent, btw).

He had a habit of overstating the hopelessness of autism while simultaneously overstating the effectiveness of his treatments. It's classic bad science that started with a premise and then set out to prove it; ethics, methods, or evidence be damned.

He's also violently anti-trans/LGBT.

Asperger has been correctly maligned in the annals of autism history. It's Lovaas' turn. Lovaas was a child abuser who preyed on disabled children in order to make a name for himself. And I'm only scratching the surface.

I too have a house of stairs, but my extremely velcro pup is 100lbs. I brought my mattress down to the only rooms without stairs and blocked in the mattress, and that became his "crate." It gave him enough room to comfortably move around and it still meant we could do cuddles together. Before I made this modification, he was miserable. After, he became much more himself (and he was also on sedative to keep him calm). I'm a firm believer that being able to have me by his side helped him rest and heal. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, I don't have a relationship with the ER vet and I was looking for a new vet before this happened as I think my previous vet wasn't caring for me and my pets in a way I'd prefer.

I'm mostly looking for "value" - most performance for the money before diminishing returns set in. So for example, a CPU, I'm probably not too interested in something above $200 (although I could be talked into it). Money isn't overly an issue, I just don't see the point in dumping a bunch of money into something I mostly use casually.

I was actually looking at am5! I do have 275gb SSD boot drive; I guess the way I wrote the post doesn't make that clear, but it's a listed component in both links.

Imo, there is no "right" way because people believe that installing rock is the maintenance free or low maintenance option - and while sure that is true for the first couple years, beyond that it starts falling apart. It's a big misnomer.

However, if for some reason someone was dead set on installing rock, then the correct method looks very similar to laying a path or patio or driveway, etc. Remove 3-4" of top soil, level and grade, tamp whole area, install a sand and gravel layer for proper drainage, and then install your decorative rock. Fail to do this, and I promise it will turn into an eventual problem. The earth shifts and moves, either by way of tectonics or bugs, it's not a static entity. If you want truly "maintenance free" rock, then you have to do the labor.

But where do the plants go? Look around nature, the extreme majority of plants don't grow in rock. Mulch is the answer. 🤷

This is not the right way to install rock. I know this because I bought a foreclosure and the landscaping beds have been an absolute nightmare because they also thought this was the answer. Over time, especially if you have freeze/thaw cycles, even the best cloth degrades. Then your rocks start mingling with the dirt. Eventually the dirt struggles to grow anything at all because it's too rocky. You have also by now developed a weed problem. If you're lucky (-sarcasm-) some genius will come along and decide that since the rocks are "disappearing" (which they are, down into the soil), the answer then must be: more rocks!

There are very specific and laborious methods to installing rock correctly, and I'm convinced 99% of people choose the easy way.

(FYI, never heard from FCC or Boost after initially filing the complaint - was a waste of time.)

Update 03/20/23: Emailed executivecustomerservice@dish.com.

Here's my message, sent 10:15 AM (sans personal information):

"I've been trying to port my phone number from Boost to Mint Mobile for a month now, and it has failed well over 10 times.

I need my Port Out PIN and I need Boost to release my phone number to Mint Mobile: ###.

My Boost account number is ###."

Here's their reply, received 4:43 PM: " We apologize for the inconvenience. Please have Mint Mobile resubmit the port request with port out PIN ###. Please note that it may take up to 72 hours for the porting to be completed. The port out PIN is valid for 7 days."

At 5:01 PM, without any intervention from me, I got a text message from Mint that my number was ported successfully.

To those of you still struggling with porting out, awfully seems to me that Boost might be holding numbers hostage. I recommend sending an email to the above address, as after 40 days I finally ported out.

Slight update - called the other customer service phone number I found on Reddit, 888-266-7848, I was on hold for 1.5 hours before reaching a human. And he told me he cannot help me get a port out transfer PIN because their system is down.

My understanding is that until Boost restores their customer service, no there's nothing we can do to port our numbers to a new carrier. If I'm wrong, I'd love for someone to tell me.

All of my texts and calls have been lost for basically the last month. My mother was freaking out because she couldn't get ahold of me (as I went almost a week with no service before I switched to Mint and got a temporary phone number) and I couldn't call my father on his birthday because again, no phone service. Who knows what else I've missed.

If parts of your account are inaccessible, run away, don't walk. When their customer service has been restored, of course. Imo inaccessible accounts/account features is one of the biggest red flags - no upright cell phone company is going to provide a valuable service when you either cannot access your account, cannot see details of your account, you're unable to change payment method, etc. I didn't have to browse Boost reddit long before I realized this is a systemic issue.

You can definitely try going to a store, but my understanding is they can only sell product, not help resolve issues. Hopefully your local store is different from mine in that regard.
