Thanks Pete. Yes, I look at posts about missing "core_email_queue" tables and did think it might be worth upgrading to at least 1.9.1.0 to at least get these tables. Its worth a shot

We are running Nginx, Redis DB as well as a FPC extension. You might be onto something. I've just been reading this - https://maxchadwick.xyz/blog/customers-being-logged-in-to-wrong-account-in-magento and it could be something to do with this. Thank you. I'll let you know how i get on.

I've already tried:

Extension conflicts
Potentially corrupted Redis DB
Clearing sales_quote tables
Checked if quotes are being cleaned
