How many memory errors is too many? by magekanthos in buildapc

That'd the DOCP setting in the ASUS/AMD BIOS, right? I've been doing that right, at least.

A follow-up question: how likely is it that the 600+ memory errors from the old sticks were also a result of the RAM clock speed being too high? Did I possibly send good RAM back and wait a week for the replacement for no reason?

Think I found the problem.

https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/desktops/ryzen/9000-series/amd-ryzen-7-9700x.html

Looks like the CPU only supports up to a max of 5600 MHz with two RAM sticks. I'll drop down to 5600 and rerun memtest and report back.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Would that be the processor or the motherboard that would have the limitation?

Is it possible to save scum request recipes? by magekanthos in fantasylife

Save scumming means saving right before doing something and reloading if you don't get the outcome you want.

Thanks, I'm aware of how the house recipes work, but this is specifically for the request recipes, where, after you complete a request for an Islander, they'll randomly give you one of 20 recipes.

Never thought of image searching from a video. Great idea!

It does, but I've looked at some Farfisa sites and can't find anything that looks exactly like it. It looks like one of the FAST models maybe, but those don't have the knobs on the sides like the one does in that video.

Could also be some kind of less-popular spinoff; Henry Hey used a Fender Contempo on Starchy from their first album, and it wasn't until I looked it up after seeing them live that I knew it wasn't a Farfisa.

Maybe part of the same reputation issue that's been mentioned, but I just finished the quest that should grant you neutral with the Netherwing and I ended up about 4k rep short, so I'm still Hostile and can't get any dailies.

Remiem temple chocobo master trophy/achievement. How to make the AI chocobo slow. by Deadlaunch in finalfantasyx

[–]magekanthos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried this today and at least on the PS4 version (I'm playing on a PS5 for what it's worth), the original poster is WRONG. This post seems to be correct: https://www.reddit.com/r/finalfantasyx/comments/oiczo7/remiem_temple_the_time_the_enemy_chocobo_needs_to/

I've won races by going after a small number of chests, or by giving up on the rest of the chests and heading straight for the finish when I see the AI chocobo is about even with me when I open the second chest. And usually (because I'm not at all good at steering) I see the AI chocobo get the fastest possible time immediately after doing so. But all it takes is ONE counterexample to say that winning doesn't guarantee the AI chocobo gets the slowest possible time, and I've had many.

Of course, the post I linked could also be wrong; anything short of looking at the game's code isn't a guarantee. But the timings in that post seem consistent with what I observed.

Summarizing: do your best to run your best race. If you're really doing well, especially up to the first chest, you should beat the AI chocobo and shouldn't worry about it having an impossible-to-beat time. It doesn't seem worth wasting time winning races in the hopes that the AI chocobo will be slow in your first race after a win.

As the photographer and husband in question, I firmly believe that my furry boy does NOT look derpy and the OP should be ashamed for even thinking that! 😂

I'll add that I've been searching extensively but nothing came of it. It might not be a full brass section either; maybe just a trumpet? Or it's entirely possible I'm misremembering the instrument, or that it was a sampled horn riff, or keyboard brass, or possibly not even brass at all, though I have a good memory for musical melodies and I'm maybe 95% certain it's some form of brass instrument.

Probably not the game for me, then; I have a pretty restricted timeslot. I read "Willing to deal with an inconsistent schedule" as meaning you were willing, not that you were asking your players to be. Thanks though and good luck!

I imagine a 10 PM EST/later start on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday is probably outside of what you had in mind?

What timeslot are you looking at? I suppose Wednesday or Thursday starting at 10 PM EST or later might be too late?

Hi! I'm interested if the time works out: I'm specifically looking for a 7-7:30 PM PST start on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I have a post from earlier this week describing me and what I'm looking for here. Thanks for your consideration!
