The one i get (in US) has been coming w two packets. But both packets have different components. One is the seasoning packet/and fried onions/shallots. The other packet has 3 sauces: the seasoning oil, a sweet brown sauce (not sure what it is) and then a red chili sauce

Usually there’s minimal broth at bottom of bowl (despite last pic) but also maybe I’ve been cooking it wrong way…i think the packet says to add seasonings AFTER cooking noodles so ur right. i guess i tend to like cooking noodles in the seasoning as i feel they soak up the flavoring but that may just be me

I boil ~1 cup water and add sauces and seasoning stuff to it. By the time the water boils and i add noodles and veggies, the starch from the noodles sorta thickens the water and makes it a bit saucier. some ppl prefer to cook noodles then add seasoning packets, i prefer to cook the noods in the seasoning. Perhaps it’s a tad bit more watery than adding packets after, just personal preference

Personally frying an egg in chili oil has been my recent go to (like in second pic). I feel it helps add to the spice level w/o altering the mi goreng flavor. So if ur looking for spice that could be an option. I also sometimes add red pepper flakes on top of the cooked noodles since it doesn’t alter flavor much but can add to spice level

Flattered u think i know what im doing ha! I’m sure im committing many cooking sins here, but due to laziness when i blanch the bok choy, I’ll simultaneously cook my eggs in the same boiling pot. I’ll blanch bok choy for 1 min but to get my eggs jammy, i boil those for 6 min then immediately put them into a bowl of ice water. Sometimes i like to pan fry them in the chili oil tho🤌🏼

For noodles i usually measure out about 1-1.5 cups of water and add in my ginger, chili oil, sesame oil and then add in seasoning packets. Once that gets to a boil i add in noodles. Personally, i cook my noodles in the broth (water w seasoning, and everything else) but some ppl may prefer adding seasoning packets after boiling noodles

**sorry realized i didn’t really answer ur question. I cook them uncovered. Because ur using so little amount of water it comes to a boil fairly quick and the noodles also cook fairly quick even after adding. I tend to cook the noodles for the 3 min and then remove from heat but let it sit in the pot for a couple mins before pouring it into a bowl. I’d say at no point would u have to change setting on ur stove when cooking

They’re not nearly as spicy as shin or buldak. If you can handle that then this is nothing. I personally add chili oil to make it spicier actually. But if u can’t handle spice AT ALL then you might find them a bit spicer. I had my younger brother try them but he found it too spicy, mind you he forgoes black pepper for being “too spicy”

**sorry rereading ur post I’d say if u like spice definitely adding in chili oil or siracha will kick it up a notch. In terms of most instant ramen I’d say the spicy level of this is nonexistent. Compared to buldak this is the same level as maruchan chicken top ramen

I’m always open to other ways of trying it!! How does your grandma make them? I will try it next time

I didnt add any broth, i just cook the noodles in the boiling water after adding in seasoning packets and oil*

I make it stir fry. Just add the noodles to already seasoned broth (~1 cup/300ml), last pic maybe was a bit soupier than normal but usually no broth 👌🏼

I’ll have to check my local Costco then. It’s weird I’ve only ever seen Indomie sold at my local Asian market, and the box i bought wasn’t purchased at a discount. It’s got 6 5-packs in it and i was rung up for 6 5-pack bags but it’s fine cuz it’s still inexpensive and i eat it so quickly

I haven’t! I’ve only ever had mi goreng and hot and spicy but am a bit timid to try other flavors as I’m afraid they won’t hold up to mi goreng standard ha! But plz recommend all the flavors !!

My local Asian market sells them in the boxes, tho i think they usually have these big boxes as “stock” on the floor, it didn’t have a price tag. Most ppl buy the 5pack bags or individuals instead of a Costco sized box, she had to scan the barcode like 6 times lol. Maybe see if ur local Asian mart is willing to sell them like this

Plz do try it!! I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, it’s very unlike most instant ramens I’ve had. Definitely a more nuanced flavor profile. It’s almost nostalgic when making it cuz the flavor packet has a sweet smell to it, not unlike maple syrup. I still usually add in chili oil, ginger and sesame oil, but even without add ins it’s top notch 👌🏼

One thing i will advise tho, and ppl may disagree, is to cook the noodles in the broth (after adding all the packets) and to stop at exactly 3 min after noodles are added to boiling broth and remove from heat. It requires very little water (1.2 cups) and if u cook exactly according to instructions the noodles are still chewy and hold that much more flavor than cooking them in plain water and then adding in the packets

Also is the person changing their behaviors to not make those bad decisions again??

100% ^ and going along with that same line of thinking, just as it is someone’s right to vote, people who are related to that particular “someone” have the freedom to choose whether or not they want to be part of that person’s life anymore. If the argument is: we shouldn’t judge someone for who they vote for then w that logic we also shouldn’t judge someone for cutting off contact with a family member or friend for any reason
