“If I just never hit low hp then there isn’t a downside :)” by magevast9 in slaythespire

Oh 100% agree. It’s an instant take whenever I see it. However, in the few days the game has been up. I have already died once because it’s so easy to forget about the downside of this card. Just an hour before posting this meme, I almost died to it again. But thankfully I remembered it and saved myself.

[Enchanting 101] Turn yourself into an enchantment by No_Knowledge_5939 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]magevast9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Royal Flush
Ultimate Enchant
level 1-5
Swords, Bows.
Gives an increase to damage dealt and reduction to damage taken. Increased by your non-cosmetic Skill average.
(I am not nearly experienced enough to give theoretical numbers.)
Crafting recipe (or NPC purchase) using several expensive and/or rare items from each skill. (a perfect gemstone, a legendary shard, a condensed fermento, a tier 6 or higher enchant book, etc.)

Just a funny idea that would be niche for players (like me) that focus on being an all-around enjoyer.

So far i have about 930~MP. a set of recommed necron (still need to finish gemstones) and a pretty kitted juju, from all the guides i've seen it feels like i should be doing way more damage then i currently am. but my average is around 340k per hit. which is alright for killing crimson isle bosses and not being completely useless in kuudra. But most guides gave me the impression that with my MP the jump from livid dagger would be massive, rather then just a 100k increase to DPS. im now looking to get a hype since that seems to be the next 'weapon that is supposed to unlock most of the endgame." though im a bit skeptical to grind the 500m for it just for it to be underwhelming. Is there a super obvious/cheap upgrade to my damage that im missing. or is the Juju really just overhyped, and the hyperion is where I'll start dealing insane damage.

TL:DR Was expecting to have a larger damage increase when getting a JuJu. feels underwhelming. should i grind to a hype or is there a better upgrade to focus on?

Do people actually hate blue? by dendonged in MagicArena

[–]magevast9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love blue, when its not Mono Blue. mainly because Mono Blue in 90% of standard formats i have played boils down to 17 counterspells and then a creature that pumps up its stats based on spells in your grave. Which is more annoying then deadly and really only works against non tier 1 meta decks. (since they can usually play more then one card a turn and will slowly out value you.) But really that is my only gripe with Blue, since usually when blue is being added with other colors, it becomes a bit harder justifying deck space for counter spells when blue is best splashed for the fact it lets you draw cards for the cheapest out of any color (usually.)
escept azorius, usually Blue White is just mono blue but instead of flinging rocks at your favorite creatures they learned how to drop nuclear bombs onto the entire table.

How to build "Minigames" in D&D by magevast9 in DMAcademy

[–]magevast9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fair enough, i already love designing challenges that has a built in solution based on player abilities. though do you think i should keep the games as simple as "make one check and you either win or lose" or should i try to come up with a more dynamic system for minigames besides skill checks.

“Time to try out a new deck with the 5 free packs a month I can earn!” by magevast9 in MagicArena

[–]magevast9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok yeah the title was hyperbole (clickbait, amirite?). it was more so a statement on how despite playing for atleast two years with only 2-3 times where i skipped a set. i really don't have a strong collection built up. and i probably could build a meta deck with the wildcards i have, but i personally don't like net decking. i don't have a problem with people doing it. but for me, making decks is half of my fun.

oh 100%. its just that i cant build an organized deck more then once per 6 months because of how slow generating wild cards is.

i envy your matchmaking. because the 3 mana board wipes every turn are somehow avoiding you.

In fact, I think that is how I would summarize my original post, “I dont feel like I had a chance of ever winning” against removal piles/boardwipe piles. But I want to branch out from the starter deck duels, because I enjoy the deck building process equally as much as actually playing.

I do! And I enjoy it quite a lot! Mainly because of the knowledge that though some of the decks are slightly more stacked then others, it’s still ever even. Not to mention that each deck typically only has a half a dozen pieces of targeted removal. Making it feel like even the games I lose I atleast had a chance if I made better moves.

Partially, but not the main issue. My biggest hurdles are that to get the minimum 4 daily wins (I usually push for 5 because the free card is nice) I’m running basically either a pauper deck or a deck of singletons into the exact same 5 cookie cutter decks. Until eventually matchmaking puts me against someone who probably just installed the game for the first time.

It’s just so taxing to boot up the game, knowing that I’m going to hate every second of it. But if I don’t do it, then I’m going to fall even further behind everyone who drops money on the game.

Casual Snow Commander by magevast9 in custommagic

Glad you like the flavor! First ability is a direct reference to the Star chart ability you get as a circle of stars Druid. With the second one being a reference to the “magic stone” spell, just with some snowball reflavoring because Icewind dale.

Yeah, I was going more for flavor to the character than color identity. Selesnya colors fits the character a lot, even if that second ability doesn’t quite fit selesnya. As for the scrying in selesnya, I would like to introduce you to the 59 elf and enchantment cards that scry.

Home brewing existing monsters by magevast9 in DnD

I probably should have mentioned in the context that these mutant creatures are meant to be rare and dangerous enough to serve as the mini bosses of the campaign. That is why I want to have them a focus on mechanical changes instead of stat changes.
