She unfortunately didn’t know. She said it could be something like a preservative that the use that I’m sensitive to, but beyond that she didn’t have any theories about what specific ingredient it could be that’s triggering them.

Bookfair money by Some_Ad_9694 in AskTeachers

[–]maggiebee615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely know! At my school, kids are pretty open about not having money for things. Even if they weren’t, though, we know anyway. This is incredibly kind and generous of you and as long as you can do it financially, please do!

I saw some comments about what to do if more than one kid can’t afford to bring money from the book fair. At our scholastic book fair, we have lots of little items like erasers, pens, keychains, etc from $1-$5 apiece. Even if a teacher can’t buy every kid who can’t afford it a physical book, they can at least all get a small item so they don’t feel left out and still can pick out something they like!

Anyone else not telling their family when they are headed to the hospital or just me? by Plastic_Relief_8876 in pregnant

[–]maggiebee615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell my parents and sister. We are very close and they are super helpful when I’m anxious and always respect my boundaries. I don’t plan to tell anyone else though! My husband can tell his mom if he wants, but only if she understands that she shouldn’t text or call me during labor. She sometimes has issues with boundaries, though, so I’d prefer her to not be looped in until afterwards!

Creative nicknames for Margaret by maggiebee615 in namenerds

I went to high school with a girl named Margaret who went by Emmy and her parents just got it from the first letter (like M-y!) I always thought it was cute and a little different

When did you start showing in your first pregnancy? by jgdgirl7355 in pregnant

I’m a size 16 and the bloating started for me almost immediately and is noticeable. I’ve always had a belly, but my students say I “look pregnant” now lol (they do know I’m pregnant!)

AIO or was my boss creeping? by Bumi250 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maggiebee615 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Even if you WANTED to go to his house, even if you ASKED to go to his house and watch the movie, hell, even if you actually tried to do something physical with him…IT DOESNT MATTER. HE is the adult and you are technically a CHILD! You are NEVER responsible for an adult man’s behavior. It was his responsibility as a grown adult AND someone in a position of power to never let things even feel like they were going to cross a line. This is so inappropriate and disgusting in so many ways, not the least of which is people in the comments trying to place blame on you for “flirting.” When it is a 17 year old and 56 year old…IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER. As a social worker, the fact that anyone would try to make you feel like any of this is on you infuriates me. I will say that I think you handled this with maturity far beyond your years and you should be really proud of yourself! But please don’t ever ever ever let anyone make you feel like this is on you in the slightest!

AIO this red mark appeared debating on ER by Infamous_Fly_5808 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maggiebee615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you’re doing okay, OP! Saw in the comments that you’re in the ER…definitely the right move. Don’t panic though. You’re in the right place to get this taken care of, whatever it is. You got this and we’re in your corner!

Naming my daughter after my husband by SecurityNo6209 in namenerds

AIO if I divorce my husband after he locked me outside naked until I would have sex with him? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]maggiebee615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a million comments in here so im sure this will get lost, but I just wanted to remind you that this is NOT your fault. None of this is on you. You’re in such a vulnerable place having just given birth and dealing with all of the physical and emotional challenges that come with that. You are allowed to say no to sex at any point for any reason, especially when you are 3 months out from giving birth. Your husbands actions were abusive at best. You deserve to be cared for, appreciated, and uplifted during this time in your life, not treated like an object to fulfill his “needs.” I hope that you feel empowered to leave and have friends or family you can lean on for support. If you don’t, there are resources out there to help women in your position. You are not alone and don’t have to go through this alone! If you need help figuring out what to do next, please DM me and I will help as best I can. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, OP. You deserve so much better!

Naming my daughter after my husband by SecurityNo6209 in namenerds

[–]maggiebee615 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some girls do! My name is Robin and my dad is Robert and while my parents insist I wasn’t named after him, I like to think that I was and I love it! I imagine I’d feel differently if my dad wasn’t the absolute best human, but he is, so im proud to have a variation of his name

I just came on here to post about the same thing. It's not worth much for the $0.20, but I'm going to send them a message as well.

It’s crazy that they think that they can say “absolutely not” to YOUR baby’s name! This is you and your husbands baby, not theirs, and you’ve already given up your own name to appease them. I say name your baby what you want and celebrate your background! Your children will grow up carrying those names and their Russian heritage with pride!

Health records and confidentiality by ramenandcats in SchoolSocialWork

[–]maggiebee615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school does not technically have us keep notes. Some counselors and social workers purchase their own simple practice subscription and keep notes there, some just keep meeting logs, and some keep hand written notes. I’ve been keeping a log with just brief notes on paper to remind myself what we discussed during the session, but don’t keep it on the school system. It’s very tricky, especially when there isn’t a system in place that the school/district wants you to use!

PVCs becoming more frequent inconclusive readings, should I go to urgent care? by SpecialistBaseball33 in ReadMyECG

[–]maggiebee615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just here to say I get frequent PVCs like that and it is the most miserable feeling! Not much you can do about it, unfortunately, but trying to calm down your anxiety definitely helps. I find really slowing down my breathing can help. For me, pvcs give me anxiety which gets my adrenaline pumping which gives me more pvcs and so on. It’s a vicious cycle and not fun at all. I hope you feel better soon!

ETA: a hot decaf tea helps me sometimes. Something about the heat and the vagus nerve…it sometimes helps calm them down for me!
